Good news, Bad news

The picture is sort of gruesome, but it makes a point; life can be good or bad, depending on the circumstances. Here, it is good to be a bat and not so good to be a frog. I am hoping the frog escapes, but it sure does not look like it. I remember a quote from the movie braveheart, which goes something like this: “All men die, but not all really live”. True life is more than just existence, its coexistence with God.

The Bible says:

1Jn 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life;
1Jn 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify, and show to you that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;)
1Jn 1:3 That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
1Jn 1:4 And these things we write to you, that your joy may be full.
1Jn 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard from him, and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The Webster Bible

Christianity is different from other religions in that God becomes man and then a best friend. How, because this man, this Jesus, did what I couldn't do; namely, solve my sin problem and restore fellowship with my maker. This is REAL LIFE and not just existence until I cease to be. If I am one with God, death does not really matter, so death just becomes a transition into a new form of spiritual life. As far as the frog is concerned, there is only one thing left to say; JUMP, NOW!!!!!
