Psalms 61-63
Psa 61:1 Hear my cry, God. Listen to my prayer.
Psa 61:2 From the end of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psa 61:3 For you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower from the enemy.
Psa 61:4 I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah.
Psa 61:5 For you, God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
Psa 61:6 You will prolong the king's life; his years shall be for generations.
Psa 61:7 He shall be enthroned in God's presence forever. Appoint your loving kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.
Psa 61:8 So I will sing praise to your name forever, that I may fulfill my vows daily.
Psa 62:1 My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.
Psa 62:2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress-- I will never be greatly shaken.
Psa 62:3 How long will you assault a man, would all of you throw him down, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
Psa 62:4 They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place. They delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
Psa 62:5 My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him.
Psa 62:6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.
Psa 62:7 With God is my salvation and my honor. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Psa 62:8 Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psa 62:9 Surely men of low degree are just a breath, and men of high degree are a lie. In the balances they will go up. They are together lighter than a breath.
Psa 62:10 Don't trust in oppression. Don't become vain in robbery. If riches increase, don't set your heart on them.
Psa 62:11 God has spoken once; twice I have heard this, that power belongs to God.
Psa 62:12 Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work.
Psa 63:1 God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
Psa 63:2 So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.
Psa 63:3 Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.
Psa 63:4 So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.
Psa 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,
Psa 63:6 when I remember you on my bed, and think about you in the night watches.
Psa 63:7 For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
Psa 63:8 My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.
Psa 63:9 But those who seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
Psa 63:10 They shall be given over to the power of the sword. They shall be jackal food.
Psa 63:11 But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.

cry; attend unto my prayer.
To the Overseer, on stringed instruments. -- By David. Hear, O God, my loud cry,
attend to my prayer.
Psalms 61 2
From the end of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the
rock that is higher than I.
From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: thou wilt
lead me on to a rock which is too high for me.
From the end of the land unto Thee I call, In the feebleness of my heart, Into a rock
higher than I Thou dost lead me.
Psalms 61 3
For you have been a refuge for me, A strong tower from the enemy.
For thou hast been a refuge for me, a strong tower from before the enemy.
For Thou hast been a refuge for me, A tower of strength because of the enemy.
Psalms 61 4
I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah.
I will sojourn in thy tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
I sojourn in Thy tent to the ages, I trust in the secret place of Thy wings. Selah.
Psalms 61 5
For you, God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
For thou, O God, hast heard my vows; thou hast given [me] the inheritance of those that
fear thy name.
For Thou, O God, hast hearkened to my vows, Thou hast appointed the inheritance
Of those fearing Thy name.
Psalms 61 6
You will prolong the king`s life; His years shall be for generations.
Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years shall be as many generations.
Days to the days of the king Thou addest, His years as generation and generation.
Psalms 61 7
He shall be enthroned in God`s presence forever. Appoint your lovingkindness and truth, that
they may preserve him.
He shall abide before God for ever: bestow loving-kindness and truth, that they may
preserve him.
He dwelleth to the age before God, Kindness and truth appoint -- they keep him.
Psalms 61 8
So I will sing praise to your name forever, That I may fulfill my vows daily. Psalm 62 For
the Chief Musician. To Jeduthan. A Psalm by David.
So will I sing forth thy name for ever, performing my vows from day to day.
So do I praise Thy name for ever, When I pay my vows day by day!

peacefully; from him is my salvation.

Psalms 62 2
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress -- I will never be greatly shaken.
He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.
Only -- He [is] my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved.
Psalms 62 3
How long will you assault a man, Would all of you throw him down, Like a leaning wall, like a
tottering fence?
How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing
wall or a tottering fence?
Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a
wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down.
Psalms 62 4
They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place. They delight in lies. They bless with

They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they
bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.
Only -- from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie,
with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah.
Psalms 62 5
My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my expectation is from him.
Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.
Only -- for God, be silent, O my soul, For from Him [is] my hope.
Psalms 62 6
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.
He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.

Psalms 62 9
Surely men of low degree are just a breath, And men of high degree are a lie. In the balances
they will go up. They are together lighter than a breath.
Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go
up together [lighter] than vanity.
Only -- vanity [are] the low, a lie the high. In balances to go up they than vanity
[are] lighter.
Psalms 62 10
Don`t trust in oppression. Don`t become vain in robbery. If riches increase, Don`t set your
heart on them.
Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set
not your heart upon it.
Trust not in oppression, And in robbery become not vain, Wealth -- when it
increaseth -- set not the heart.
Psalms 62 11
God has spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongs to God.
Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.
Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That `strength [is] with God.`
Psalms 62 12
Also to you, Lord, belongs lovingkindness, For you reward every man according to his work.
Psalm 63 A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah.
And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man
according to his work.
And with Thee, O Lord, [is] kindness, For Thou dost recompense to each,
According to his work!
Psalms 63 1
God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you, My flesh longs for you,
In a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
{A Psalm of David; when he was in the wilderness of Judah.} O God, thou art my ·God; early
will I seek thee. My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh languisheth for thee, in a dry and
weary land without water:
A Psalm of David, in his being in the wilderness of Judah. O God, Thou [art] my
God, earnestly do I seek Thee, Thirsted for Thee hath my soul, Longed for Thee hath
my flesh, In a land dry and weary, without waters.
Psalms 63 2
So I have seen you in the sanctuary, Watching your power and your glory.
To see thy power and thy glory, as I have beheld thee in the sanctuary;
So in the sanctuary I have seen Thee, To behold Thy strength and Thine honour.
Psalms 63 3
Because your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise you.
For thy loving-kindness is better than life: my lips shall praise thee.
Because better [is] Thy kindness than life, My lips do praise Thee.
Psalms 63 4
So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.
So will I bless thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in thy name.
So I bless Thee in my life, in Thy name I lift up my hands.
Psalms 63 5
My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,
My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise [thee] with
joyful lips.
As [with] milk and fatness is my soul satisfied, And [with] singing lips doth my
mouth praise.
Psalms 63 6
When I remember you on my bed, And think about you in the night watches.
When I remember thee upon my bed, I meditate on thee in the night-watches:
If I have remembered Thee on my couch, In the watches -- I meditate on Thee.
Psalms 63 7
For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
For thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings will I sing for joy.
For Thou hast been a help to me, And in the shadow of Thy wings I sing.
Psalms 63 8
My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Cleaved hath my soul after Thee, On me hath Thy right hand taken hold.
Psalms 63 9
But those who seek my soul, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
But those that seek my soul, to destroy [it], shall go into the lower parts of the earth;
And they who for desolation seek my soul, Go in to the lower parts of the earth.
Psalms 63 10
They shall be given over to the power of the sword. They shall be jackal food.
They shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be the portion of foxes.
They cause him to run on the edge of the sword, A portion for foxes they are.
Psalms 63 11
But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, For the mouth
of those who speak lies shall be silenced. Psalm 64 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by
David.
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: for the
mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
And the king doth rejoice in God, Boast himself doth every one swearing by Him,
But stopped is the mouth of those speaking lies!

1Co 8:1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
1Co 8:2 But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he doesn't yet know as he ought to know.
1Co 8:3 But if anyone loves God, the same is known by him.
1Co 8:4 Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

1Co 8:9 But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
1Co 8:10 For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol's temple, won't his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
1Co 8:11 And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died.
1Co 8:12 Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.
1Co 8:13 Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I don't cause my brother to stumble.

1 Corinthians 8 11
And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died.
and the weak [one], the brother for whose sake Christ died, will perish through thy
knowledge.
and the brother who is infirm shall perish by thy knowledge, because of whom
Christ died?
1 Corinthians 8 12
Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin
against Christ.

Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I don`t
cause my brother to stumble.
Wherefore if meat be a fall-trap to my brother, I will eat no flesh for ever, that I may not
be a fall-trap to my brother.
wherefore, if victuals cause my brother to stumble, I may eat no flesh -- to the age
-- that my brother I may not cause to stumble.
