Proverbs 21-23
Pro 21:1 The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires.
Pro 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the hearts.
Pro 21:3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice.
Pro 21:4 A high look, and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin.
Pro 21:5 The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty.
Pro 21:6 Getting treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor for those who seek death.
Pro 21:7 The violence of the wicked will drive them away, because they refuse to do what is right.
Pro 21:8 The way of the guilty is devious, but the conduct of the innocent is upright.
Pro 21:9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than to share a house with a contentious woman.
Pro 21:10 The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes.
Pro 21:11 When the mocker is punished, the simple gains wisdom. When the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.
Pro 21:12 The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked, and brings the wicked to ruin.
Pro 21:13 Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he will also cry out, but shall not be heard.
Pro 21:14 A gift in secret pacifies anger; and a bribe in the cloak, strong wrath.
Pro 21:15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
Pro 21:16 The man who wanders out of the way of understanding shall rest in the assembly of the dead.
Pro 21:17 He who loves pleasure shall be a poor man. He who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.
Pro 21:18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; the treacherous for the upright.
Pro 21:19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.
Pro 21:20 There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swallows it up.
Pro 21:21 He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor.
Pro 21:22 A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and brings down the strength of its confidence.
Pro 21:23 Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.
Pro 21:24 The proud and haughty man, "scoffer" is his name; he works in the arrogance of pride.
Pro 21:25 The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.
Pro 21:26 There are those who covet greedily all day long; but the righteous give and don't withhold.
Pro 21:27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!
Pro 21:28 A false witness will perish, and a man who listens speaks to eternity.
Pro 21:29 A wicked man hardens his face; but as for the upright, he establishes his ways.
Pro 21:30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Yahweh.
Pro 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle; but victory is with Yahweh.
Pro 22:1 A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold.
Pro 22:2 The rich and the poor have this in common: Yahweh is the maker of them all.
Pro 22:3 A prudent man sees danger, and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
Pro 22:4 The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh is wealth, honor, and life.
Pro 22:5 Thorns and snares are in the path of the wicked: whoever guards his soul stays from them.
Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Pro 22:7 The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender.
Pro 22:8 He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed.
Pro 22:9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed; for he shares his food with the poor.
Pro 22:10 Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop.
Pro 22:11 He who loves purity of heart and speaks gracefully is the king's friend.
Pro 22:12 The eyes of Yahweh watch over knowledge; but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
Pro 22:13 The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets!"
Pro 22:14 The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit: he who is under Yahweh's wrath will fall into it.
Pro 22:15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child: the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
Pro 22:16 Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty.
Pro 22:17 Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching.
Pro 22:18 For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips.
Pro 22:19 That your trust may be in Yahweh, I teach you today, even you.
Pro 22:20 Haven't I written to you thirty excellent things of counsel and knowledge,
Pro 22:21 To teach you truth, reliable words, to give sound answers to the ones who sent you?
Pro 22:22 Don't exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don't crush the needy in court;
Pro 22:23 for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them.
Pro 22:24 Don't befriend a hot-tempered man, and don't associate with one who harbors anger:
Pro 22:25 lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul.
Pro 22:26 Don't you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts.
Pro 22:27 If you don't have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?
Pro 22:28 Don't move the ancient boundary stone, which your fathers have set up.
Pro 22:29 Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won't serve obscure men.
Pro 23:1 When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you;
Pro 23:2 put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite.
Pro 23:3 Don't be desirous of his dainties, seeing they are deceitful food.
Pro 23:4 Don't weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint.
Pro 23:5 Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.
Pro 23:6 Don't eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and don't crave his delicacies:
Pro 23:7 for as he thinks about the cost, so he is. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
Pro 23:8 The morsel which you have eaten you shall vomit up, and lose your good words.
Pro 23:9 Don't speak in the ears of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.
Pro 23:10 Don't move the ancient boundary stone. Don't encroach on the fields of the fatherless:
Pro 23:11 for their Defender is strong. He will plead their case against you.
Pro 23:12 Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to the words of knowledge.
Pro 23:13 Don't withhold correction from a child. If you punish him with the rod, he will not die.
Pro 23:14 Punish him with the rod, and save his soul from Sheol.
Pro 23:15 My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad, even mine:
Pro 23:16 yes, my heart will rejoice, when your lips speak what is right.
Pro 23:17 Don't let your heart envy sinners; but rather fear Yahweh all the day long.
Pro 23:18 Indeed surely there is a future hope, and your hope will not be cut off.
Pro 23:19 Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path!
Pro 23:20 Don't be among ones drinking too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat:
Pro 23:21 for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags.
Pro 23:22 Listen to your father who gave you life, and don't despise your mother when she is old.
Pro 23:23 Buy the truth, and don't sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.
Pro 23:24 The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him.
Pro 23:25 Let your father and your mother be glad! Let her who bore you rejoice!
Pro 23:26 My son, give me your heart; and let your eyes keep in my ways.
Pro 23:27 For a prostitute is a deep pit; and a wayward wife is a narrow well.
Pro 23:28 Yes, she lies in wait like a robber, and increases the unfaithful among men.
Pro 23:29 Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
Pro 23:30 Those who stay long at the wine; those who go to seek out mixed wine.
Pro 23:31 Don't look at the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly.
Pro 23:32 In the end, it bites like a snake, and poisons like a viper.
Pro 23:33 Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind will imagine confusing things.
Pro 23:34 Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the midst of the sea, or as he who lies on top of the rigging:
Pro 23:35 "They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don't feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I can find another."

The king`s heart in the hand of Jehovah is [as] brooks of water: he turneth it
whithersoever he will.
Rivulets of waters [is] the heart of a king in the hand of Jehovah, Wherever He
pleaseth He inclineth it.
Proverbs 21 2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But Yahweh weighs the hearts.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; but Jehovah weigheth the hearts.
Every way of a man [is] right in his own eyes, And Jehovah is pondering hearts.
Proverbs 21 3
To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice.
To exercise justice and judgment is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.
To do righteousness and judgment, Is chosen of Jehovah rather than sacrifice.
Proverbs 21 4
A high look, and a proud heart, The lamp of the wicked, is sin.
Lofty eyes, and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin.
Loftiness of eyes, and breadth of heart, Tillage of the wicked [is] sin.

The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; And everyone who is hasty surely rushes to
poverty.
The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty,
only to want.
The purposes of the diligent [are] only to advantage, And of every hasty one, only to want.
Proverbs 21 6
Getting treasures by a lying tongue Is a fleeting vapor for those who seek death.
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting breath of them that seek death.
The making of treasures by a lying tongue, [Is] a vanity driven away of those seeking death.
Proverbs 21 7
The violence of the wicked will drive them away, Because they refuse to do what is right.
The devastation of the wicked sweepeth them away, because they refuse to do what is
right.
The spoil of the wicked catcheth them, Because they have refused to do judgment.
Proverbs 21 8
The way of the guilty is devious, But the conduct of the innocent is upright.
Very crooked is the way of a guilty man; but as for the pure, his work is upright.
Froward [is] the way of a man who is vile, And the pure -- upright [is] his work.

It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than to share a house with a contentious
woman.

The Righteous One is acting wisely Towards the house of the wicked, He is
overthrowing the wicked for wickedness.
Proverbs 21 13
Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, He will also cry out, but shall not be heard.
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also himself shall cry, and shall not be
heard.
Whoso is shutting his ear from the cry of the poor, He also doth cry, and is not answered.
Proverbs 21 14
A gift in secret pacifies anger; And a bribe in the cloak, strong wrath.
A gift in secret pacifieth anger; and a present in the bosom, vehement fury.

A prudent man sees danger, and hides himself; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
A prudent [man] seeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are

The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh Is wealth, honor, and life.
The reward of humility [and] the fear of Jehovah is riches, and honour, and life.

Thorns [and] snares are in the way of the perverse: he that keepeth his soul holdeth
himself far from them.
Thorns -- snares [are] in the way of the perverse, Whoso is keeping his soul is far from them.
Proverbs 22 6
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Train up the child according to the tenor of his way, and when he is old he will not
depart from it.
Give instruction to a youth about his way, Even when he is old he turneth not from it.
Proverbs 22 7

The rich ruleth over the poor; and the borrower is servant to the lender.
The rich over the poor ruleth, And a servant [is] the borrower to the lender.
Proverbs 22 8
He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, And the rod of his fury will be destroyed.
He that soweth unrighteousness shall reap iniquity, and the rod of his wrath shall have
an end.
Whoso is sowing perverseness reapeth sorrow, And the rod of his anger weareth out.
Proverbs 22 9
He who has a generous eye will be blessed; For he shares his food with the poor.
He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed, for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
The good of eye -- he is blessed, For he hath given of his bread to the poor.
Proverbs 22 10
Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; Yes, quarrels and insults will stop.
Cast out the scorner, and contention will depart, and strife and ignominy shall cease.
Cast out a scorner -- and contention goeth out, And strife and shame cease.

He that loveth pureness of heart, upon whose lips is grace, the king is his friend.
Whoso is loving cleanness of heart, Grace [are] his lips, a king [is] his friend.

The eyes of Yahweh watch over knowledge; But he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
The eyes of Jehovah preserve knowledge; but he overthroweth the words of the unfaithful.
The eyes of Jehovah have kept knowledge, And He overthroweth the words of the treacherous.
Proverbs 22 13
The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets!"
The sluggard saith, There is a lion without, I shall be killed in the streets!
The slothful hath said, `A lion [is] without, In the midst of the broad places I am
slain.`
Proverbs 22 14
The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit: He who is under Yahweh`s wrath will fall into it.
The mouth of strange women is a deep ditch: he with whom Jehovah is displeased shall
fall therein.
A deep pit [is] the mouth of strange women, The abhorred of Jehovah falleth there.
Proverbs 22 15
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child: The rod of discipline drives it far from him.
Folly is bound in the heart of a child; the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Folly is bound up in the heart of a youth, The rod of chastisement putteth it far from him.
Proverbs 22 16
Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, Both come to poverty.
He that oppresseth the poor, it is to enrich him; he that giveth to the rich, [bringeth]
only to want.
He is oppressing the poor to multiply to him, He is giving to the rich -- only to
want.
Proverbs 22 17
Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching.
Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thy heart unto my knowledge.
Incline thine ear, and hear words of the wise, And thy heart set to my knowledge,
Proverbs 22 18
For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, If all of them are ready on your lips.
For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee: they shall be together fitted on
thy lips.
For they are pleasant when thou dost keep them in thy heart, They are prepared together for thy lips.
Proverbs 22 19
That your trust may be in Yahweh, I teach you today, even you.
That thy confidence may be in Jehovah, I have made [them] known to thee this day, even
to thee.
That thy trust may be in Jehovah, I caused thee to know to-day, even thou.
Proverbs 22 20
Haven`t I written to you thirty excellent things Of counsel and knowledge,
Have not I written to thee excellent things, in counsels and knowledge,
Have I not written to thee three times With counsels and knowledge?
Proverbs 22 21
To teach you truth, reliable words, To give sound answers to the ones who sent you?
that I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest
carry back words of truth to them that send thee?
To cause thee to know the certainty of sayings of truth, To return sayings of truth
to those sending thee.
Proverbs 22 22
Don`t exploit the poor, because he is poor; And don`t crush the needy in court;
Rob not the poor, because he is poor, neither oppress the afflicted in the gate;
Rob not the poor because he [is] poor, And bruise not the afflicted in the gate.
Proverbs 22 23
For Yahweh will plead their case, And plunder the life of those who plunder them.
for Jehovah will plead their cause, and despoil the soul of those that despoil them.
For Jehovah pleadeth their cause, And hath spoiled the soul of their spoilers.
Proverbs 22 24
Don`t befriend a hot-tempered man, And don`t associate with one who harbors anger:
Make no friendship with an angry man, and go not with a furious man;
Shew not thyself friendly with an angry man, And with a man of fury go not in,
Proverbs 22 25
Lest you learn his ways, And ensnare your soul.
lest thou learn his paths, and get a snare to thy soul.
Lest thou learn his paths, And have received a snare to thy soul.

Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set.
Remove not a border of olden times, That thy fathers have made.

Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings; He won`t serve obscure men.
Hast thou seen a man diligent in his work? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand
before the mean.
Hast thou seen a man speedy in his business? Before kings he doth station himself,
He stations not himself before obscure men!
Proverbs 23 1
When you sit to eat with a ruler, Consider diligently what is before you;
When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider well who is before thee;
When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, Thou considerest diligently that which [is]
before thee,
Proverbs 23 2
Put a knife to your throat, If you are a man given to appetite.
and put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
And thou hast put a knife to thy throat, If thou [art] a man of appetite.
Proverbs 23 3
Don`t be desirous of his dainties, Seeing they are deceitful food.
Be not desirous of his dainties; for they are deceitful food.
Have no desire to his dainties, seeing it [is] lying food.
Proverbs 23 4
Don`t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint.
