From Gary... Hugs, law, theology: The stuff of GOODNESS!!!

Good advice for everyone; especially for those of us who call themselves Christians!!!  Why do I say this? 

Galatians, Chapter 6 (WEB)

 9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.  10 So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith. 

Matthew, Chapter 19 (WEB)

 16  Behold, one came to him and said, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?” 

  17  He said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, God. ..."

First, doing good is an apostolic command and second, because God (himself) is good and what Christian would NOT want to be like God???

But, no matter what you religious or philosophical leanings, remember- what you do eventually comes back to you. I really like what Jesus said....

Matthew, Chapter 7 (WEB)
 12  Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets. 

Making someone happy may not involve giving someone a hug, but whatever you do, spread the goodness around- heaven knows there is not enough out there!!!
