From Gary... Reminders about us

For me, it is impossible NOT to see a cross when I look at this sunrise. And when I do, I am reminded of this passage from the Bible:

Hebrews, Chapter 12 (WEB)
1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  2 looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The witnesses refer to the "list" of the faithful in the preceding chapter (Hebrews 11) and are an encouragement for us to be faithful as well.  Encouragement to "lay aside" sin and patiently live the Christian life; the life that Jesus wants us to live. The cross, on which he suffered and died ultimately led to his enthronement in heaven.  And if JESUS is king, I have hope.

Optical illusion? Natural phenomenon? Both, and yet more; for this picture reminds me of the cross of Jesus Christ and the hope of life beyond life.  Oh, there are probably nicer pictures out there, but this is all I need and I hope you can say the same!!!!
