Anyone who thinks being married is easy is mistaken. However, over
time, it does get easier. After a few decades, you really get to know
one another; everything, good and bad, large and small- everything. And
you learn how to deal with the not-so-good things about your spouse.
How? The following instructions are found in Paul's letter to the
Ephesians...
Ephesians, Chapter 5 (World English Bible)
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; 26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, 27 that
he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or
wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without
defect. 28 Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
Love is the answer; its just that simple. Make a commitment to show love- every single day. Love with pure motives, unselfishly. And just keep doing it, even when you graduate to a rocking chair!!!
