Wear your hat, consider your heart. by Gary Rose

My wife sat down to her computer today, wearing a red, white and blue had and said: "wear yours, its independence day". Little did she know that I had already worn it when I took the dog for his morning "walk".

Then, as I perused Facebook, I noticed Barak Obama's negative comments about America's freedom holiday, held on every 4th of July. Frankly, I am sick of him- His negative attitude towards those things which I hold dear is sickening.

Forget him, lets consider the most positive of all- Jesus....

Philippians, Chapter 2 (WEB)
5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,  6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,  7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.  8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.  9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,  10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,  11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Larry Deason used to say: "God's will, God's way, God's results". How true! Jesus totally embodies that statement. And as his followers, all Christians should emulate Jesus' attitude, his mind set, if you will.

As we celebrate our nation's independence from foreign control this 4th of July, let the holiday hold a double meaning. Remember the day you became a Christian and were given forgiveness of sins by none other than GOD, himself.

Celebrating yet?
