Ezekiel 21-24

Eze 21:1 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 21:2 Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and drop your word toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;

Eze 21:3 and tell the land of Israel, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.

Eze 21:4 Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

Eze 21:5 and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.

Eze 21:6 Sigh therefore, you son of man; with the breaking of your thighs and with bitterness you will sigh before their eyes.

Eze 21:7 It shall be, when they tell you, Why do you sigh? that you shall say, Because of the news, for it comes; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 21:8 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 21:9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says Yahweh: Say, A sword, a sword, it is sharpened, and also furbished;

Eze 21:10 it is sharpened that it may make a slaughter; it is furbished that it may be as lightning: shall we then make mirth? the rod of my son, it condemns every tree.

Eze 21:11 It is given to be furbished, that it may be handled: the sword, it is sharpened, yes, it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the killer.

Eze 21:12 Cry and wail, son of man; for it is on my people, it is on all the princes of Israel: they are delivered over to the sword with my people; strike therefore on your thigh.

Eze 21:13 For there is a trial; and what if even the rod that condemns shall be no more? says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 21:14 You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and strike your hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one who is deadly wounded, which enters into their chambers.

Eze 21:15 I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied: ah! it is made as lightning, it is pointed for slaughter.

Eze 21:16 Gather you together, go to the right, set yourself in array, go to the left, wherever your face is set.

Eze 21:17 I will also strike my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest: I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

Eze 21:18 The word of Yahweh came to me again, saying,

Eze 21:19 Also, you son of man, appoint two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; they both shall come forth out of one land: and mark out a place, mark it out at the head of the way to the city.

Eze 21:20 You shall appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified.

Eze 21:21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shook the arrows back and forth, he consulted the teraphim, he looked in the liver.

Eze 21:22 In his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build forts.

Eze 21:23 It shall be to them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths to them; but he brings iniquity to memory, that they may be taken.

Eze 21:24 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because you have come to memory, you shall be taken with the hand.

Eze 21:25 You, deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,

Eze 21:26 thus says the Lord Yahweh: Remove the turban, and take off the crown; this shall be no more the same; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

Eze 21:27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

Eze 21:28 You, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say you, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;

Eze 21:29 while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day is come in the time of the iniquity of the end.

Eze 21:30 Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your birth, will I judge you.

Eze 21:31 I will pour out my indignation on you; I will blow on you with the fire of my wrath; and I will deliver you into the hand of brutish men, skillful to destroy.

Eze 21:32 You shall be for fuel to the fire; your blood shall be in the midst of the land; you shall be no more remembered: for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

Eze 22:1 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 22:2 You, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations.

Eze 22:3 You shall say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: A city that sheds blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!

Eze 22:4 You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made; and you have caused your days to draw near, and are come even to your years: therefore have I made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.

Eze 22:5 Those who are near, and those who are far from you, shall mock you, you infamous one and full of tumult.

Eze 22:6 Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.

Eze 22:7 In you have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of you have they dealt by oppression with the foreigner; in you have they wronged the fatherless and the widow.

Eze 22:8 You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.

Eze 22:9 Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood; and in you they have eaten on the mountains: in the midst of you they have committed lewdness.

Eze 22:10 In you have they uncovered their fathers' nakedness; in you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity.

Eze 22:11 One has committed abomination with his neighbor's wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father's daughter.

Eze 22:12 In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 22:13 Behold, therefore, I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in the midst of you.

Eze 22:14 Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.

Eze 22:15 I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries; and I will consume your filthiness out of you.

Eze 22:16 You shall be profaned in yourself, in the sight of the nations; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

Eze 22:17 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 22:18 Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross to me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.

Eze 22:19 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you are all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

Eze 22:20 As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it; so will I gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you.

Eze 22:21 Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst.

Eze 22:22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so you will be melted in its midst; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.

Eze 22:23 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 22:24 Son of man, tell her, You are a land that is not cleansed, nor rained on in the day of indignation.

Eze 22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in its midst, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many in its midst.

Eze 22:26 Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things: they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Eze 22:27 Her princes in its midst are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

Eze 22:28 Her prophets have daubed for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, when Yahweh has not spoken.

Eze 22:29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.

Eze 22:30 I sought for a man among them, who should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.

Eze 22:31 Therefore have I poured out my indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought on their heads, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 23:1 The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,

Eze 23:2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:

Eze 23:3 and they played the prostitute in Egypt; they played the prostitute in their youth; there were their breasts pressed, and there was handled the bosom of their virginity.

Eze 23:4 The names of them were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister: and they became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.

Eze 23:5 Oholah played the prostitute when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbors,

Eze 23:6 who were clothed with blue, governors and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses.

Eze 23:7 She bestowed her prostitution on them, the choicest men of Assyria all of them; and on whoever she doted, with all their idols she defiled herself.

Eze 23:8 Neither has she left her prostitution since the days of Egypt; for in her youth they lay with her, and they handled the bosom of her virginity; and they poured out their prostitution on her.

Eze 23:9 Therefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, on whom she doted.

Eze 23:10 These uncovered her nakedness; they took her sons and her daughters; and her they killed with the sword: and she became a byword among women; for they executed judgments on her.

Eze 23:11 Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet was she more corrupt in her doting than she, and in her prostitution which were more than the prostitution of her sister.

Eze 23:12 She doted on the Assyrians, governors and rulers, her neighbors, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.

Eze 23:13 I saw that she was defiled; they both took one way.

Eze 23:14 She increased her prostitution; for she saw men portrayed on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermilion,

Eze 23:15 girded with girdles on their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them princes to look on, after the likeness of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their birth.

Eze 23:16 As soon as she saw them she doted on them, and sent messengers to them into Chaldea.

Eze 23:17 The Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their prostitution, and she was polluted with them, and her soul was alienated from them.

Eze 23:18 So she uncovered her prostitution, and uncovered her nakedness: then my soul was alienated from her, like as my soul was alienated from her sister.

Eze 23:19 Yet she multiplied her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth, in which she had played the prostitute in the land of Egypt.

Eze 23:20 She doted on their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.

Eze 23:21 Thus you called to memory the lewdness of your youth, in the handling of your bosom by the Egyptians for the breasts of your youth.

Eze 23:22 Therefore, Oholibah, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side:

Eze 23:23 the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them; desirable young men, governors and rulers all of them, princes and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.

Eze 23:24 They shall come against you with weapons, chariots, and wagons, and with a company of peoples; they shall set themselves against you with buckler and shield and helmet all around; and I will commit the judgment to them, and they shall judge you according to their judgments.

Eze 23:25 I will set my jealousy against you, and they shall deal with you in fury; they shall take away your nose and your ears; and your residue shall fall by the sword: they shall take your sons and your daughters; and your residue shall be devoured by the fire.

Eze 23:26 They shall also strip you of your clothes, and take away your beautiful jewels.

Eze 23:27 Thus will I make your lewdness to cease from you, and your prostitution brought from the land of Egypt; so that you shall not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.

Eze 23:28 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your soul is alienated;

Eze 23:29 and they shall deal with you in hatred, and shall take away all your labor, and shall leave you naked and bare; and the nakedness of your prostitution shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your prostitution.

Eze 23:30 These things shall be done to you, because you have played the prostitute after the nations, and because you are polluted with their idols.

Eze 23:31 You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore will I give her cup into your hand.

Eze 23:32 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: You will drink of your sister's cup, which is deep and large; you will be ridiculed and held in derision; it contains much.

Eze 23:33 You shall be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of your sister Samaria.

Eze 23:34 You shall even drink it and drain it out, and you shall gnaw the broken pieces of it, and shall tear your breasts; for I have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 23:35 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have forgotten me, and cast me behind your back, therefore bear you also your lewdness and your prostitution.

Eze 23:36 Yahweh said moreover to me: Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? then declare to them their abominations.

Eze 23:37 For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands; and with their idols have they committed adultery; and they have also caused their sons, whom they bore to me, to pass through the fire to them to be devoured.

Eze 23:38 Moreover this they have done to me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my Sabbaths.

Eze 23:39 For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and behold, thus have they done in the midst of my house.

Eze 23:40 Furthermore you have sent for men who come from far, to whom a messenger was sent, and behold, they came; for whom you did wash yourself, paint your eyes, and deck yourself with ornaments,

Eze 23:41 and sit on a stately bed, with a table prepared before it, whereupon you did set my incense and my oil.

Eze 23:42 The voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with men of the common sort were brought drunkards from the wilderness; and they put bracelets on the hands of them twain, and beautiful crowns on their heads.

Eze 23:43 Then said I of her who was old in adulteries, Now will they play the prostitute with her, and she with them.

Eze 23:44 They went in to her, as they go in to a prostitute: so went they in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women.

Eze 23:45 Righteous men, they shall judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and with the judgment of women who shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.

Eze 23:46 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will bring up a company against them, and will give them to be tossed back and forth and robbed.

Eze 23:47 The company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

Eze 23:48 Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

Eze 23:49 They shall recompense your lewdness on you, and you shall bear the sins of your idols; and you shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 24:1 Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 24:2 Son of man, write you the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.

Eze 24:3 Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Set on the caldron, set it on, and also pour water into it:

Eze 24:4 gather its pieces into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

Eze 24:5 Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the caldron; make it boil well; yes, let its bones be boiled in its midst.

Eze 24:6 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen on it.

Eze 24:7 For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it on the bare rock; she didn't pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.

Eze 24:8 That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.

Eze 24:9 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

Eze 24:10 Heap on the wood, make the fire hot, boil well the flesh, and make thick the broth, and let the bones be burned.

Eze 24:11 Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its brass may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.

Eze 24:12 She has wearied herself with toil; yet her great rust doesn't go forth out of her; her rust doesn't go forth by fire.

Eze 24:13 In your filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed you and you weren't cleansed, you shall not be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

Eze 24:14 I, Yahweh, have spoken it: it shall happen, and I will do it: I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to your ways, and according to your doings, shall they judge you, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 24:15 Also the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 24:16 Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

Eze 24:17 Sigh, but not aloud, make no mourning for the dead; bind your headdress on you, and put your shoes on your feet, and don't cover your lips, and don't eat men's bread.

Eze 24:18 So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

Eze 24:19 The people said to me, Won't you tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?

Eze 24:20 Then I said to them, The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 24:21 Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.

Eze 24:22 You shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

Eze 24:23 Your tires shall be on your heads, and your shoes on your feet: you shall not mourn nor weep; but you shall pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.

Eze 24:24 Thus shall Ezekiel be to you a sign; according to all that he has done you will do: when this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 24:25 You, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart, their sons and their daughters,

Eze 24:26 that in that day he who escapes shall come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?

Eze 24:27 In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you shall speak, and be no more mute: so you will be a sign to them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Ezekiel 21 2

Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and drop [your word] toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;

Son of man, set thy face against Jerusalem, and drop [words] against the holy places, and

prophesy against the land of Israel,

`Son of man, set thy face unto Jerusalem, and prophesy unto the holy places, and

prophesy unto the ground of Israel;

Ezekiel 21 3

and tell the land of Israel, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.

and say to the land of Israel, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, and I will  draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the  

wicked.

and thou hast said unto the ground of Israel: Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against

thee, And have brought out My sword from its scabbard, And have cut off from

thee righteous and wicked.

Ezekiel 21 4

Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

Seeing that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my

sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh, from the south to the north;

Because that I have cut off from thee righteous and wicked, Therefore go out doth

My sword from its scabbard, Unto all flesh, from south to north.

Ezekiel 21 5

and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.

And known have all flesh that I, Jehovah, Have brought out My sword from its

scabbard, It doth not turn back any more.

Ezekiel 21 6

Sigh therefore, you son of man; with the breaking of your loins and with bitterness shall you sigh before their eyes.

Sigh then, thou son of man; with breaking of the loins, and with bitterness sigh before

their eyes.

And thou, son of man, sigh with breaking of loins, yea, with bitterness thou dost

sigh before their eyes,

And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore dost thou sigh? that thou shalt say,

Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be

feeble, and every spirit shall languish, and all knees shall melt into water: behold, it

cometh; it is here, saith the Lord Jehovah.

and it hath come to pass, when they say unto thee, For what art thou sighing? that

thou hast said: Because of the report, for it is coming, And melted hath every

heart, And feeble hath been all hands, And weak is every spirit, And all knees go --

waters, Lo, it is coming, yea, it hath been, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.`

Ezekiel 21 8

The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Ezekiel 21 9

Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says Yahweh: Say, A sword, a sword, it is sharpened, and also furbished;

Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah: Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished.

`Son of man, prophesy, and thou hast said, Thus said Jehovah, say: A sword, a sword

is sharpened, and also polished.

Ezekiel 21 10

it is sharpened that it may make a slaughter; it is furbished that it may be as lightning: shall we then make mirth? the rod of my son, it condemns every tree.

It is sharpened for sore slaughter, it is furbished that it may glitter. Shall we then make

mirth, [saying,] The sceptre of my son contemneth all wood?

So as to slaughter a slaughter it is sharpened. So as to have brightness it is

polished, Desire hath rejoiced the sceptre of my son, It is despising every tree.

Ezekiel 21 11

It is given to be furbished, that it may be handled: the sword, it is sharpened, yes, it is

furbished, to give it into the hand of the killer.

And he hath given it to be furbished that it may be handled. The sword, -- it is

sharpened, and it is furbished to give it into the hand of the slayer.

And he giveth it for polishing, For laying hold of by the hand. It is sharpened --

the sword -- and polished, To give it into the hand of a slayer.

Ezekiel 21 12

Cry and wail, son of man; for it is on my people, it is on all the princes of Israel: they are

delivered over to the sword with my people; strike therefore on your thigh.

Cry and howl, son of man; for it shall be against my people, it shall be against all the

princes of Israel: they are given up to the sword along with my people: smite therefore

upon the thigh.

Cry and howl, son of man, For it hath been among My people, It [is] among all the

princes of Israel, Cast unto the sword have been My people. Therefore strike on

thy thigh,

Ezekiel 21 13

For there is a trial; and what if even the rod that condemns shall be no more? says the Lord Yahweh.

For the trial [is made]; and what if even the contemning sceptre shall be no [more]? saith

the Lord Jehovah.

Because [it is] a trier, And what if even the sceptre it is despising? It shall not be,

an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

Ezekiel 21 14

You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and strike your hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one who is 

deadly wounded, which enters into their chambers.

And thou, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; for [the strokes of] the

sword shall be doubled the third time: it is the sword of the slain, the sword that hath

slain the great one, which encompasseth them privily.

And thou, son of man, prophesy, And smite hand on hand, And bent is the sword a

third time, The sword of the wounded! It [is] the sword of the wounded -- the

great one, That is entering the inner chamber to them.

Ezekiel 21 15

I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied: ah! it is made as lightning, it is pointed for slaughter.

In order that the heart may melt, and the stumbling-blocks be multiplied, I have set the

threatening sword against all their gates: ah! it is made glittering, it is whetted for the

slaughter.

To melt the heart, and to multiply the ruins, By all their gates I have set the point

of a sword. Ah, it is made for brightness, Wrapt up for slaughter.

Ezekiel 21 16

Gather you together, go to the right, set yourself in array, go to the left, wherever your face is set.

Gather up [strength], go to the right hand, turn thee, go to the left, whithersoever thy

face is appointed.

Take possession of the right, place thyself at the left, Whither thy face is

I will also strike my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest: I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

And I myself will smite my hands together, and I will satisfy my fury: I Jehovah have

Also, you son of man, appoint two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; they both shall come forth out of one land: and mark out a place, mark it out at the head of the way to the city.

And thou, son of man, set thee two ways, by which the sword of the king of Babylon may

come -- out of one land shall they both come -- and make thee a signpost, make it at the

head of the way to the city.

`And thou, son of man, appoint for thee two ways, for the coming in of the sword of

the king of Babylon; from one land they come forth, both of them, and a station

prepare thou, at the top of the way of the city prepare [it].

Ezekiel 21 20

You shall appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified.

Appoint a way for the coming of the sword to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to

Judah at the fenced [city] of Jerusalem.

A way appoint for the coming of the sword, Unto Rabbath of the sons of Ammon,

And to Judah, in Jerusalem -- the fenced.

Ezekiel 21 21

For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shook the arrows back and forth, he consulted the teraphim, he looked in the liver.

For the king of Babylon standeth at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh [his] arrows, he inquireth of the teraphim, he looketh in the

For stood hath the king of Babylon at the head of the way, At the top of the two

ways, to use divination, He hath moved lightly with the arrows, He hath asked at

Ezekiel 21 22

In his right hand was the divination [for] Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build forts.

In his right hand is the lot of Jerusalem to appoint battering-rams, to open the mouth for

bloodshed, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering-rams against the

gates, to cast mounds, to build siege-towers.

At his right hath been the divination -- Jerusalem, To place battering-rams, To

open the mouth with slaughter, To lift up a voice with shouting, To place

battering-rams against the gates, To pour out a mount, to build a fortification.

Ezekiel 21 23

It shall be to them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths to them; but he brings iniquity to memory, that they may be taken.

And this shall be a false divination in their sight, for them that have sworn oaths; but he

will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

And it hath been to them as a false divination in their eyes, Who have sworn oaths

to them, And he is causing iniquity to be remembered to be caught.

Ezekiel 21 24

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because you have come to memory, you shall be taken with the hand.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye make your iniquity to be remembered

in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear;

because ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your causing your iniquity to be

remembered, In your transgressions being revealed, For your sins being seen, in

all your doings, Because of your being remembered, By the hand ye are caught.

Ezekiel 21 25

You, deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,

And thou, profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity

of the end,

And thou, wounded, wicked one, Prince of Israel, whose day hath come, In the time

of the iniquity of the end!

Ezekiel 21 26

thus says the Lord Yahweh: Remove the mitre, and take off the crown; this [shall be] no more the same; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

-- thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre and take off the crown; what is shall be

no [more]. Exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Turn aside the mitre, and bear away the crown, This --

not this -- the low make high, And the high make low.

I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [him].

right it is; and I will give it [to him].

An overturn, overturn, overturn, I make it, Also this hath not been till the coming

of Him, Whose [is] the judgment, and I have given it.

Ezekiel 21 28

You, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say you, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;

And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus speaketh the Lord Jehovah concerning the

children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and thou shalt say, A sword, a sword

is drawn; for the slaughter is it furbished, that it may consume, that it may glitter:

And thou, son of man, prophesy, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah

concerning the sons of Ammon, and concerning their reproach: and thou hast

said: A sword, a sword, open for slaughter, Polished to the utmost for brightness!

Ezekiel 21 29

while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day is come in the time of the iniquity of the end.

whilst they see vanity for thee, whilst they divine a lie unto thee, to lay thee upon the

necks of the wicked that are slain, whose day is come at the time of the iniquity of the

end.

In the seeing for thee of a vain thing, In the divining for thee of a lie, To put thee

on the necks of the wounded of the wicked, whose day hath come, In the time of

the iniquity of the end.

Ezekiel 21 30

Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your birth, will I judge you.

Restore [it] to its sheath. I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the

land of thy birth.

Turn [it] back unto its scabbard, In the place where thou wast produced, In the

land of thy birth I do judge thee.

Ezekiel 21 31

I will pour out my indignation on you; I will blow on you with the fire of my wrath; and I will deliver you into the hand of brutish men, skillful to destroy.

And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow upon thee the fire of my

wrath, and give thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.

And I have poured on thee Mine indignation, With fire of My wrath I blow against

thee, And have given thee into the hand of brutish men -- artificers of

You shall be for fuel to the fire; your blood shall be in the midst of the land; you shall be no more remembered: for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt

not be remembered: for I Jehovah have spoken.

To the fire thou art for fuel, Thy blood is in the midst of the land, Thou art not

Ezekiel 22 1

Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

You, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations.

And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? Yea, cause her to

know all her abominations,

`And thou, son of man, dost thou judge? dost thou judge the city of blood? then

thou hast caused it to know all its abominations,

Ezekiel 22 3

You shall say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: A city that sheds blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!

and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A city that sheddeth blood in her midst, that her

time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.

and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: The city is shedding blood in its

midst, For the coming in of its time, And it hath made idols on it for defilement.

Ezekiel 22 4

You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made; and you have caused your days to draw near, and are come even to your years: therefore have I made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.

Thou art become guilty by thy blood which thou hast shed, and hast defiled thyself with

thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art

come unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a

mocking unto all countries.

By thy blood that thou hast shed thou hast been guilty, And by thine idols that

thou hast made thou hast been defiled, And thou causest thy days to draw near,

And art come in unto thine years, Therefore I have given thee a reproach to

nations, And a derision to all the lands.

Ezekiel 22 5

Those who are near, and those who are far from you, shall mock you, you infamous one [and] full of tumult.

Those that are near, and those that are far from thee, shall mock thee, who art infamous

[and] full of tumult.

The near and the far-off from thee scoff at thee, O defiled of name -- abounding in

trouble.

Ezekiel 22 6

Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.

Behold, the princes of Israel have been in thee to shed blood, each according to his power.

Lo, princes of Israel -- each according to his arm Have been in thee to shed blood.

In you have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of you have they dealt by

oppression with the sojourner; in you have they wronged the fatherless and the widow.

In thee have they made light of father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger; in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.

Father and mother made light of in thee, To a sojourner they dealt oppressively in

thy midst, Fatherless and widow they oppressed in thee.

Ezekiel 22 8

You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.

Thou hast despised my holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

My holy things thou hast despised, And My sabbaths thou hast polluted.

Ezekiel 22 9

Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood; and in you they have eaten on the mountains: in the midst of you they have committed lewdness.

In thee there have been slanderous men to shed blood; and in thee have they eaten upon

the mountains; in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness;

Men of slander have been in thee to shed blood, And on the mountains they have

eaten in thee, Wickedness they have done in thy midst.

Ezekiel 22 10

In you have they uncovered their fathers` nakedness; in you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity.

The nakedness of a father hath one uncovered in thee, The defiled of impurity

they humbled in thee.

Ezekiel 22 11

One has committed abomination with his neighbor`s wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father`s daughter.

And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour`s wife; and another hath

lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his

father`s daughter.

And each with the wife of his neighbour hath done abomination, And each his

daughter-in-law hath defiled through wickedness, And each his sister, his

father`s daughter, hath humbled in thee.

Ezekiel 22 12

In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me, says the Lord Yahweh.

In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou

hast overreached thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord

Jehovah.

A bribe they have taken in thee to shed blood, Usury and increase thou hast taken,

And cuttest off thy neighbour by oppression, And Me thou hast forgotten, An

affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!

Ezekiel 22 13

Behold, therefore, I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in the midst of you.

And behold, I have smitten mine hand at thine overreaching which thou hast done, and

at thy bloodshed which hath been in the midst of thee.

And lo, I have smitten My hand, Because of thy dishonest gain that thou hast

gained, And for thy blood that hath been in thy midst.

Ezekiel 22 14

Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.

Shall thy heart endure, shall thy hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I Jehovah have spoken, and will do [it].

Doth thy heart stand -- are thy hands strong, For the days that I am dealing with

thee? I, Jehovah, have spoken and have done [it].

Ezekiel 22 15

I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries; and I will consume your filthiness out of you.

And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries, and

will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

And I have scattered thee among nations, And have spread thee out among lands,

And consumed thy uncleanness out of thee.

Ezekiel 22 16

You shall be profaned in yourself, in the sight of the nations; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

And thou shalt be polluted through thyself in the sight of the nations, and thou shalt

know that I [am] Jehovah.

And thou hast been polluted in thyself Before the eyes of nations, And thou hast

known that I [am] Jehovah.`

Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross to me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.

As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it; so will I gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you.

Ezekiel 22 21

Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in the midst of it.

Yea, I will collect you, and blow upon you the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in

the midst thereof.

And I have heaped you up, And blown on you in the fire of My wrath, And ye have

been melted in its midst.

Ezekiel 22 22

As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall you be melted in the midst of it; and you shall know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.

As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof:

and ye shall know that I Jehovah have poured out my fury upon you.

As the melting of silver in the midst of a furnace, So are ye melted in its midst,

And ye have known that I, Jehovah, I have poured out My fury upon you.`

Son of man, tell her, You are a land that is not cleansed, nor rained on in the day of indignation.

Son of man, say unto her, Thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day

`Son of man, say to it, Thou [art] a land, It [is] not cleansed nor rained on in a day

of indignation.

Ezekiel 22 25

There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst of it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many in the midst of it.

Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things: they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Ezekiel 22 29

The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yes, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the sojourner wrongfully.

I sought for a man among them, who should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.

And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the fence, and stand in the

breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.

And I seek of them a man making a fence, And standing in the breach before Me,

In behalf of the land -- not to destroy it, And I have not found.

Therefore have I poured out my indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought on their heads, says the Lord Yahweh.

The names of them were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister: and they became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.

Neither has she left her prostitution since [the days of] Egypt; for in her youth they lay with her, and they handled the bosom of her virginity; and they poured out their prostitution on her.

Neither left she her whoredoms [brought] from Egypt; for in her youth they had lain with

her, and had handled the breasts of her virginity, and poured their fornication upon

Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet was she more corrupt in her doting than she, and in her

prostitution which were more than the prostitution of her sister.

her fornications more than the whoredoms of her sister.

And see doth her sister Aholibah, And she maketh her doting love more corrupt

than she, And her whoredoms than the whoredoms of her sister.

She doted on the Assyrians, governors and rulers, [her] neighbors, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.

On sons of Asshur she hath doted, Governors and prefects, Neighbouring ones --

As soon as she saw them she doted on them, and sent messengers to them into Chaldea.

And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she lusted after them, and sent messengers

unto them into Chaldea.

And she doteth on them at the sight of her eyes, And sendeth messengers to them,

to Chaldea.

Ezekiel 23 17

The Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their prostitution, and she was polluted with them, and her soul was alienated from them.

And the children of Babylon came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with

their fornication; she too defiled herself with them, and her soul was alienated from

them.

And come in unto her do sons of Babylon, To the bed of loves, And they defile her

with their whoredoms, And she is defiled with them, And her soul is alienated

from them.

So she uncovered her prostitution, and uncovered her nakedness: then my soul was alienated from her, like as my soul was alienated from her sister.

And she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness; and my soul was

alienated from her, like as my soul was alienated from her sister.

And she revealeth her whoredoms, And she revealeth her nakedness, And

alienated is My soul from off her, As alienated was My soul from off her sister.

Yet she multiplied her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth, in which she had

played the prostitute in the land of Egypt.

Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, calling to remembrance the days of her youth,

wherein she played the harlot in the land of Egypt;

And she multiplieth her whoredoms, To remember the days of her youth, When she

went a-whoring in the land of Egypt.

She doted on their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.

Thus you called to memory the lewdness of your youth, in the handling of your bosom by the Egyptians for the breasts of your youth.

And thou didst look back to the lewdness of thy youth, in the handling of thy teats by the

Egyptians, for the breasts of thy youth.

Thou lookest after the wickedness of thy youth, In dealing out of Egypt thy loves,

For the sake of the breasts of thy youth.

Therefore, Oholibah, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side:

against thee, from whom thy soul is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on

Therefore, O Aholibah, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am stirring up thy lovers

against thee, From whom thy soul hath been alienated, And have brought them in

against thee from round about.

the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, [and] all the Assyrians with them; desirable young men, governors and rulers all of them, princes and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.

The children of Babylon, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, all the children

of Asshur with them; all of them attractive young men, governors and rulers, great lords

and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.

Ezekiel 23 24

They shall come against you with weapons, chariots, and wagons, and with a company of peoples; they shall set themselves against you with buckler and shield and helmet round about; and I will commit the judgment to them, and they shall judge you according to their judgments.

And they shall come against thee [with] armour, chariots and wheels, and with an

assemblage of peoples; they shall set themselves against thee [with] target, and shield,

and helmet round about; and I will put judgment before them, and they shall judge thee

Ezekiel 23 25

I will set my jealousy against you, and they shall deal with you in fury; they shall take away your nose and your ears; and your residue shall fall by the sword: they shall take your sons and your daughters; and your residue shall be devoured by the fire.

And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall

cut off thy nose and thine ears, and thy remnant shall fall by the sword; they shall take

thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.

They shall also strip you of your clothes, and take away your beautiful jewels.

They shall also strip the of thy garments, and take away thy fair jewels.

And they have stripped thee of thy garments, And have taken thy beauteous jewels.

Thus will I make your lewdness to cease from you, and your prostitution [brought] from the land of Egypt; so that you shall not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.

And I will make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom [brought] from the

land of Egypt; and thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any

more.

And I have caused thy wickedness to cease from thee, And thy whoredoms out of

For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your soul is alienated;

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will give thee over into the hand of them whom

thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy soul is alienated.

For thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am giving thee into a hand that thou hast

hated, Into a hand from which thou wast alienated.

and they shall deal with you in hatred, and shall take away all your labor, and shall leave you naked and bare; and the nakedness of your prostitution shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your prostitution.

And they shall deal with thee in hatred, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare; so that the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy fornications.

These things shall be done to you, because you have played the prostitute after the nations, and because you are polluted with their idols.

These things shall be done unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the nations,

because thou hast defiled thyself with their idols.

To do these things to thee, In thy going a-whoring after nations, Because thou

hast been defiled with their idols,

You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore will I give her cup into your hand.

Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; and I have given her cup into thy hand.

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: You shall drink of your sister`s cup, which is deep and large; you shall be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it contains much.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou shalt drink of thy sister`s cup deep and large; thou

shalt be for a laughing-stock and a derision, [for] it containeth much.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: The cup of thy sister thou dost drink, The deep and

the wide one, (Thou art for laughter and for scorn,) Abundant to contain.

You shall be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of your sister Samaria.

Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and

desolation, the cup of thy sister Samaria;

With drunkenness and sorrow thou art filled, A cup of astonishment and

Ezekiel 23 34

You shall even drink it and drain it out, and you shall gnaw the broken pieces of it, and shall tear your breasts; for I have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh.

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have forgotten me, and cast me behind your back, therefore bear you also your lewdness and your prostitution.

behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy fornications.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast forgotten Me, And thou

dost cast Me behind thy back, Even thou also bear thy wickedness and thy

whoredoms.`

Ezekiel 23 36

Yahweh said moreover to me: Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? then declare to them their abominations.

And Jehovah said unto me, Son of man, wilt thou judge Oholah and Oholibah? yea, declare

unto them their abominations.

And Jehovah saith unto me, `Son of man, Dost thou judge Aholah and Aholibah?

Declare then to them their abominations.

Ezekiel 23 37

For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands; and with their idols have they committed adultery; and they have also caused their sons, whom they bore to me, to pass through [the fire] to them to be devoured.

bore unto me, to be devoured.

Moreover this they have done to me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my Sabbaths.

For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, behold, thus have they done in the midst of my house.

Furthermore you have sent for men who come from far, to whom a messenger was sent, and, behold, they came; for whom you did wash yourself, paint your eyes, and deck yourself with ornaments,

and behold, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thine eyes, and

deckedst thyself with ornaments;

And also that they send to men coming from afar, Unto whom a messenger is sent,

And lo, they have come in for whom thou hast washed, Painted thine eyes, and put

on adornment.

and sit on a stately bed, with a table prepared before it, whereupon you did set my incense and my oil. and satest upon a stately bed, with a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hadst set

mine incense and mine oil.

And thou hast sat on a couch of honour, And a table arrayed before it, And My

perfume and My oil placed on it.

The voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with men of the common sort were brought drunkards from the wilderness; and they put bracelets on the hands of them [twain], and beautiful crowns on their heads.

And the voice of a multitude living carelessly was with her; and with people of the

common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, and they put bracelets upon

their hands, and a beautiful crown upon their heads.

And the voice of a multitude at ease [is] with her, And unto men of the common

people are brought in Sabeans from the wilderness, And they put bracelets on

their hands, And a beauteous crown on their heads.

Ezekiel 23 43

Then said I of her who was old in adulteries, Now will they play the prostitute with her, and she [with them].

And I said of her that was old in adulteries, Will she now commit her fornications, even

she.

And I say of the worn-out one in adulteries, Now they commit her whoredoms --

she also!

They went in to her, as they go in to a prostitute: so went they in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women.

And they went in unto her, as they go in unto a whorish woman: so went they in unto

Oholah and unto Oholibah the lewd women.

And they come in unto her, As the coming in unto a whorish woman, So they have

come in unto Aholah, And unto Aholibah -- the wicked women.

Ezekiel 23 45

Righteous men, they shall judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and with the judgment of women who shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.

And righteous men, they shall judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and with

For thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will bring up a company against them, and will give them to be tossed back and forth and robbed.

give them to be driven hither and thither and spoiled.

to trembling and to spoiling.

The company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

instruction and shall not do according to your lewdness.

And I have caused wickedness to cease from the land, And instructed have been all

the women, And they do not according to your wickedness.

They shall recompense your lewdness on you, and you shall bear the sins of your idols; and you shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Set on the caldron, set it on, and also pour water into it:

And propose a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord

Jehovah: Set on the pot, set [it] on, and also pour water into it.

and use unto the rebellious house a simile, and thou hast said unto them: Thus

said the Lord Jehovah: To set on the pot, to set [it] on, and also to pour into it

gather the pieces of it into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

Ezekiel 24 6

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen on it.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is

therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall

upon it:

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo [to] the city of blood, A pot whose scum

[is] in it, And its scum hath not come out of it, By piece of it, by piece of it bring

it out, Not fallen on it hath a lot.

Ezekiel 24 7

For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it on the bare rock; she didn`t pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.

For her blood in her midst hath been, On a clear place of a rock she hath set it, She

That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.

That it might cause fury to come up to execute vengeance, I have set her blood upon the

bare rock, that it should not be covered.

a rock -- not to be covered.

Ezekiel 24 9

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo [to] the city of blood, yea, I -- I make

great the pile.

Ezekiel 24 10

Heap on the wood, make the fire hot, boil well the flesh, and make thick the broth, and let the bones be burned.

bones be burned.

Make abundant the wood, Kindle the fire, consume the flesh, And make the

compound, And let the bones be burnt.

Ezekiel 24 11

Then set it empty on the coals of it, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the rust of it may be consumed.

And cause it to stand on its coals empty, So that its brass is hot and burning,

Melted hath been in its midst its uncleanness, Consumed is its scum.

She has wearied [herself] with toil; yet her great rust doesn`t go forth out of her; her rust doesn`t [go forth] by fire.

She hath exhausted [her] labours, yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her: let her

rust be in the fire.

[With] sorrows she hath wearied herself, And the abundance of her scum goeth not

out of her, In the fire [is] her scum.

Ezekiel 24 13

In your filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed you and you weren`t cleansed, you shall not be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

In thy filthiness is lewdness, for I have purged thee, and thou art not pure. Thou shalt no

more be purged from thy filthiness, till I have satisfied my fury upon thee.

In thine uncleanness [is] wickedness, Because I have cleansed thee, And thou hast

not been cleansed, From thine uncleanness thou art not cleansed again, Till I have

caused My fury to rest on thee.

Ezekiel 24 14

I, Yahweh, have spoken it: it shall happen, and I will do it: I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to your ways, and according to your doings, shall they judge

you, says the Lord Yahweh.

I Jehovah have spoken [it]: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back,

neither will I spare, nor will I repent. According to thy ways, and according to thy

doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.

I, Jehovah, hath spoken, It hath come, and I have done [it], I do not free, nor do I

spare, nor do I repent, According to thy ways, and according to thine acts, they

have judged thee, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.`

Ezekiel 24 15

Also the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Ezekiel 24 16

Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet thou

shalt not mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

`Son of man, lo, I am taking from thee the desire of thine eyes by a stroke, and thou

dost not mourn, nor weep, nor let thy tear come.

Sigh, but not aloud, make no mourning for the dead; bind your headdress on you, and put your shoes on your feet, and don`t cover your lips, and don`t eat men`s bread.

Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind thy turban upon thee, and put thy

sandals upon thy feet, and cover not the beard, and eat not the bread of men.

Cease to groan, [for] the dead thou dost make no mourning, thy bonnet bind on

thee, and thy shoes thou dost put on thy feet, and thou dost not cover over the

upper lip, and bread of men thou dost not eat.`

So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

The people said to me, Won`t you tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?

Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.

Say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my

sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and your soul`s longing;

and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.

You shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover the beard, neither eat the bread of men;

And ye have done as I have done, On the upper lip ye are not covered, And bread of

men ye do not eat.

Your tires shall be on your heads, and your shoes on your feet: you shall not mourn nor weep; but you shall pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.

and your turbans shall be upon your heads, and your sandals upon your feet: ye shall not

mourn nor weep; but ye shall waste away in your iniquities and moan one toward

And your bonnets [are] on your heads, And your shoes [are] on your feet, Ye do not

Thus shall Ezekiel be to you a sign; according to all that he has done shall you do: when this comes, then shall you know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

Jas 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming on you.

Jas 5:2 Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.

Jas 5:3 Your gold and your silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be for a testimony against you, and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up your treasure in the last days.

Jas 5:4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies.
