From Gary... The value of "Retro"

Old-school is the term that seems best applicable to this picture. Old ways of doing things give way to newer ideas, many of them very good!!!  I remember typing letters on a manual typewriter (no electricity) and having to do mathematics with a pencil and paper (sometimes even WITHOUT THE PAPER). Rotary telephones, party lines, mimeograph machines and wringer washers have all gone the way of the dodo bird.  Today, life is all about productivity.  We expect everything to make us succeed; even our spouse.  Something doesn't do this- goodbye.  But some things simply do not change.  We grow up, have children, grow old and eventually die.  What then?  Well, then comes the judgment.  If we have listened and obeyed, fine; if not, along comes the consequences for our attitude towards God and HIS WORD!!!  Jeremiah puts it this way...

Jeremiah, Chapter 6
  16  Thus says Yahweh, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’  17 I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen!’ 18 Therefore hear, you nations, and know, congregation, what is among them.  19 Hear, earth! Behold, I will bring evil on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.  20 To what purpose comes there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.”
But, I like new things, new ways of doing things, you might say.  That is fine for this world because it is changing.  However, God does NOT CHANGE!!!  Don't like the idea of being told what to do?  That happens to us all, each and every day. Your spouse, the police officer, your boss, your teacher, your girlfriend (boyfriend) and many others give instructions you had better listen to.  So, why not listen to God????  In ten thousand years times ten thousand, HE will still be there and WE will still have to answer for what we do!!!  Why not make it easy on ourselves and just listen?  Old ways of doing things (including how we live our lives) will get us you to heaven; why would anyone want to do something different??????

Ezekiel 33-36

Eze 33:1 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
Eze 33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman;
Eze 33:3 if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
Eze 33:4 then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and doesn't take warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head.
Eze 33:5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn't take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.
Eze 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn't blow the trumpet, and the people aren't warned, and the sword comes, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
Eze 33:7 So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
Eze 33:8 When I tell the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you don't speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand.
Eze 33:9 Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn't turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.
Eze 33:10 You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: Thus you speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?
Eze 33:11 Tell them, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel?
Eze 33:12 You, son of man, tell the children of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his disobedience; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall he who is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sins.
Eze 33:13 When I tell the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he has committed, therein shall he die.
Eze 33:14 Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
Eze 33:15 if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Eze 33:16 None of his sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
Eze 33:17 Yet the children of your people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
Eze 33:18 When the righteous turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall even die therein.
Eze 33:19 When the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
Eze 33:20 Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. House of Israel, I will judge you everyone after his ways.
Eze 33:21 It happened in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one who had escaped out of Jerusalem came to me, saying, The city has been struck.
Eze 33:22 Now the hand of Yahweh had been on me in the evening, before he who was escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more mute.
Eze 33:23 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
Eze 33:24 Son of man, they who inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
Eze 33:25 Therefore tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood: and shall you possess the land?
Eze 33:26 You stand on your sword, you work abomination, and you defile everyone his neighbor's wife: and shall you possess the land?
Eze 33:27 You shall tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and him who is in the open field will I give to the animals to be devoured; and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
Eze 33:28 I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.
Eze 33:29 Then shall they know that I am Yahweh, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed.
Eze 33:30 As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk of you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, everyone to his brother, saying, Please come and hear what is the word that comes forth from Yahweh.
Eze 33:31 They come to you as the people comes, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don't do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.
Eze 33:32 Behold, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they don't do them.
Eze 33:33 When this comes to pass, (behold, it comes), then shall they know that a prophet has been among them.
Eze 34:1 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
Eze 34:2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and tell them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn't the shepherds feed the sheep?
Eze 34:3 You eat the fat, and you clothe you with the wool, you kill the fatlings; but you don't feed the sheep.
Eze 34:4 You haven't strengthened the diseased, neither have you healed that which was sick, neither have you bound up that which was broken, neither have you brought back that which was driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigor have you ruled over them.
Eze 34:5 They were scattered, because there was no shepherd; and they became food to all the animals of the field, and were scattered.
Eze 34:6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill: yes, my sheep were scattered on all the surface of the earth; and there was none who searched or sought.
Eze 34:7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh:
Eze 34:8 As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the animals of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and didn't feed my sheep;
Eze 34:9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh:
Eze 34:10 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.
Eze 34:11 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
Eze 34:12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
Eze 34:13 I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
Eze 34:14 I will feed them with good pasture; and on the mountains of the height of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie down in a good fold; and on fat pasture shall they feed on the mountains of Israel.
Eze 34:15 I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down, says the Lord Yahweh.
Eze 34:16 I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them in justice.
Eze 34:17 As for you, O my flock, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats.
Eze 34:18 Seems it a small thing to you to have fed on the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? and to have drunk of the clear waters, but you must foul the residue with your feet?
Eze 34:19 As for my sheep, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet.
Eze 34:20 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh to them: Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
Eze 34:21 Because you thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the diseased with your horns, until you have scattered them abroad;
Eze 34:22 therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
Eze 34:23 I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
Eze 34:24 I, Yahweh, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them; I, Yahweh, have spoken it.
Eze 34:25 I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land; and they shall dwell securely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
Eze 34:26 I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in its season; there shall be showers of blessing.
Eze 34:27 The tree of the field shall yield its fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them.
Eze 34:28 They shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shall the animals of the earth devour them; but they shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid.
Eze 34:29 I will raise up to them a plantation for renown, and they shall be no more consumed with famine in the land, neither bear the shame of the nations any more.
Eze 34:30 They shall know that I, Yahweh, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, says the Lord Yahweh.
Eze 34:31 You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, says the Lord Yahweh.
Eze 35:1 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
Eze 35:2 Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
Eze 35:3 and tell it, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment.
Eze 35:4 I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.
Eze 35:5 Because you have had a perpetual enmity, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;
Eze 35:6 therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will prepare you to blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.
Eze 35:7 Thus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns.
Eze 35:8 I will fill its mountains with its slain: in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses shall they fall who are slain with the sword.
Eze 35:9 I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.
Eze 35:10 Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas Yahweh was there:
Eze 35:11 therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge you.
Eze 35:12 You shall know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to devour.
Eze 35:13 You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it.
Eze 35:14 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.
Eze 35:15 As you did rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
Eze 36:1 You, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of Yahweh.
Eze 36:2 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because the enemy has said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;
Eze 36:3 therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that you might be a possession to the residue of the nations, and you are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;
Eze 36:4 therefore, you mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are all around;
Eze 36:5 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land to themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.
Eze 36:6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and tell the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because you have borne the shame of the nations:
Eze 36:7 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: I have sworn, saying, Surely the nations that are around you, they shall bear their shame.
Eze 36:8 But you, mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are at hand to come.
Eze 36:9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn into you, and you shall be tilled and sown;
Eze 36:10 and I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built;
Eze 36:11 and I will multiply on you man and animal; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better to you than at your beginnings: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.
Eze 36:12 Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no more henceforth bereave them of children.
Eze 36:13 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because they say to you, You land are a devourer of men, and have been a bereaver of your nation;
Eze 36:14 therefore you shall devour men no more, neither bereave your nation any more, says the Lord Yahweh;
Eze 36:15 neither will I let you hear any more the shame of the nations, neither shall you bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shall you cause your nation to stumble any more, says the Lord Yahweh.
Eze 36:16 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
Eze 36:17 Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.
Eze 36:18 Therefore I poured out my wrath on them for the blood which they had poured out on the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;
Eze 36:19 and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
Eze 36:20 When they came to the nations, where they went, they profaned my holy name; in that men said of them, These are the people of Yahweh, and are gone forth out of his land.
Eze 36:21 But I had regard for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, where they went.
Eze 36:22 Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I don't do this for your sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations, where you went.
Eze 36:23 I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am Yahweh, says the Lord Yahweh, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
Eze 36:24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
Eze 36:25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.
Eze 36:28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Eze 36:29 I will save you from all your uncleanness: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine on you.
Eze 36:30 I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that you may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.
Eze 36:31 Then you shall remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
Eze 36:32 Nor for your sake do I this, says the Lord Yahweh, be it known to you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, house of Israel.
Eze 36:33 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built.
Eze 36:34 The land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all who passed by.
Eze 36:35 They shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.
Eze 36:36 Then the nations that are left around you shall know that I, Yahweh, have built the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and I will do it.
Eze 36:37 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.
Eze 36:38 As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

The Composite Bible
The World English Bible
Darby's Translation
Young's Literal Translation

The Composite Bible is a effort to understand the Bible by considering it from different perspectives and different levels of literalcy. First, read the World English Bible (the least literal-black text) for comprehension of the text. Next, read both the World English Bible with the Darby Translation (more literal-blue text) to make comparisons and lastly, read all three versions (Young's is the most literal translation- red text) at one time to obtain an overview of the text. Doing this will make you think about what the Scriptures are actually saying and avoid reading in a superficial manner.
Ezekiel

Ezekiel 33 1
The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
Ezekiel 33 2
Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman;
Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the
sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them all, and set
him for their watchman:
`Son of man, speak unto the sons of thy people, and thou hast said unto them: A
land -- when I bring in against it a sword, And the people of the land have taken
one man out of their borders, And made him to them for a watchman.
Ezekiel 33 3
if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
if he see the sword coming upon the land, and blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
And he hath seen the sword coming against the land, And hath blown with a
trumpet, and hath warned the people,
Ezekiel 33 4
then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and doesn`t take warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head.
then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword
come and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
And the hearer hath heard the voice of the trumpet, and he hath not taken
warning, And come in doth the sword, and taketh him away, His blood is on his
head.
Ezekiel 33 5
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn`t take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood is upon him: whereas
had he taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.
The voice of the trumpet he heard, And he hath not taken warning, his blood is on
him, And he who took warning his soul hath delivered.
Ezekiel 33 6
But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn`t blow the trumpet, and the people aren`t warned, and the sword comes, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman`s hand.
But if the watchman see the sword coming, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be
not warned, if the sword come and take a person from among them, he is taken away in
his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman`s hand.
And the watchman, when he seeth the sword coming in, And he hath not blown
with a trumpet, And the people hath not been warned, And come in doth a sword,
And taketh away of them -- a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood
from the hand of the watchman I require.
Ezekiel 33 7
So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; and thou shalt
hear the word from my mouth, and warn them from me.
And thou, son of man, A watchman I gave thee to the house of Israel, And thou hast
heard from My mouth a word, And thou hast warned them from Me.
Ezekiel 33 8
When I tell the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you don`t speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand.
When I say unto the wicked, Wicked [man], thou shalt certainly die; and thou speakest
not to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his
blood will I require at thy hand.
In My saying to the wicked, O wicked one -- thou dost surely die, And thou hast
not spoken to warn the wicked from his way, He -- the wicked -- in his iniquity
doth die, And his blood from thy hand I require.
Ezekiel 33 9
Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn`t turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.
But if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he do not turn from his way,
he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
And thou, when thou hast warned the wicked of his way, to turn back from it, And
he hath not turned back from his way, He in his iniquity doth die, And thou thy
soul hast delivered.
Ezekiel 33 10
You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: Thus you speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?
And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel, Thus ye speak, saying, Our
transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we waste away in them, how then should we
live?
And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel: Rightly ye have spoken, saying:
Surely our transgressions and our sins [are] on us, And in them we are wasting
away, How, then, do we live?
Ezekiel 33 11
Tell them, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel?
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I have no pleasure in the death of the
wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil
ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Say unto them, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, I delight not in the
death of the wicked, But -- in the turning of the wicked from his way, And he hath
lived, Turn back, turn back, from your evil ways, Yea, why do ye die, O house of Israel?
Ezekiel 33 12
You, son of man, tell the children of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his disobedience; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall he who is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sins.
And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the
righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness
of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness;
neither shall the righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.
And thou, son of man, say unto the sons of thy people: The righteousness of the
righteous doth not deliver him in the day of his transgression, And the wickedness of the wicked, He doth not stumble for it in the day of his turning from his wickedness, And the righteous is not able to live in it in the day of his sin.
Ezekiel 33 13
When I tell the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he has committed, therein shall he die.
When I say to the righteous that he shall certainly live, and he trusteth to his
righteousness and doeth what is wrong, none of his righteous acts shall be remembered;
but in his unrighteousness which he hath done, in it shall he die.
In My saying of the righteous: He surely liveth, And -- he hath trusted on his
righteousness, And he hath done perversity, All his righteous acts are not
remembered, And for his perversity that he hath done, For it he doth die.
Ezekiel 33 14
Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
And when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt certainly die, and he turneth from his sin,
and doeth judgment and justice;
And in My saying to the wicked: Thou surely diest, And -- he hath turned back
from his sin, And hath done judgment and righteousness,
Ezekiel 33 15
if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had taken by robbery, walk in the
statutes of life, doing nothing that is wrong; he shall certainly live, he shall not die.
(The pledge the wicked restoreth, plunder he repayeth,) In the statutes of life he

do I judge you, O house of Israel.`

Now the hand of Jehovah had been upon me in the evening, before he that had escaped
came; and he had opened my mouth against his coming to me in the morning; and my
mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
And the hand of Jehovah hath been unto me in the evening, before the coming in
of the escaped one, and He openeth my mouth till the coming in unto me in the
morning, and opened is my mouth, and I have not been silent again.

Son of man, they who inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
Son of man, they that inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying,
Abraham was one, and he inherited this land, and we are many: the land is given us for a
possession.
`Son of man, the inhabitants of these wastes on the ground of Israel are speaking,
saying: Alone hath been Abraham -- and he possesseth the land, and we [are] many
-- to us hath the land been given for a possession.
Ezekiel 33 25

Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Ye eat with the blood, and lift up
your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood; and shall ye possess the land?

Ye have stood on your sword, Ye have done abomination, Each the wife of his
neighbour ye have defiled, And the land ye possess!
Ezekiel 33 27
Thus shall you tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and him who is in the open field will I give to the animals to be devoured; and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: [As] I live, verily they that are in
the waste places shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the
beasts to be devoured, and they that are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of
the pestilence.
Thus dost thou say unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: I live -- do not they who
[are] in the wastes by the sword fall? And they who [are] on the face of the field, To
the beast I have given for food, And they who are in strongholds and in caves by

shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolated, so that none shall pass through.
And I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, And ceased hath the
excellency of its strength, And desolated have been mountains of Israel, Without any one passing through.
Ezekiel 33 29
Then shall they know that I am Yahweh, when I have made the land a desolation and an

Ezekiel 33 30
As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk of you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, everyone to his brother, saying, Please come and hear what is the word that comes forth from Yahweh.
And as for thee, son of man, the children of thy people keep talking of thee by the walls
and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from Jehovah.
And thou, son of man, the sons of thy people who are speaking about thee, By the

brother, Saying: Come in, I pray you, And hear what [is] the word that cometh out
from Jehovah.
Ezekiel 33 31
They come to you as the people comes, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don`t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.
And they come unto thee as a people cometh, and they sit before thee [as] my people, and they hear thy words, but they do them not; for with their mouth they shew much love, [but] their heart goeth after their dishonest gain.
And they come in unto thee as the coming in of a people, And they sit before thee -
- My people, And have heard thy words, and they do them not, For doting loves
with their mouth they are making, After their dishonest gain their heart is going.

well on an instrument; and they hear thy words, but they do them not.
And lo, thou [art] to them as a singer of doting loves, A pleasant voice, and playing

Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy; and say unto them, unto
the shepherds, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the shepherds of Israel that feed
themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock?

said unto them: To the shepherds, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo [to] the shepherds of Israel, Who have been feeding themselves! The flock do not the shepherds feed?
Ezekiel 34 3
You eat the fat, and you clothe you with the wool, you kill the fatlings; but you don`t feed the sheep.

feed not the flock.
The fat ye do eat, and the wool ye put on, The fed one ye slaughter, the flock ye feed
not.
Ezekiel 34 4
You haven`t strengthened the diseased, neither have you healed that which was sick, neither have you bound up that which was broken, neither have you brought back that which was driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigor have you ruled over them.
The weak have ye not strengthened, nor have ye healed the sick, and ye have not bound up [what was] broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought for that which was lost; but with harshness and with rigour have ye ruled over them.
The weak ye have not strengthened, And the sick one ye have not healed, And the
broken ye have not bound up, And the driven away have not brought back, And the
lost ye have not sought, And with might ye have ruled them and with rigour.
Ezekiel 34 5
They were scattered, because there was no shepherd; and they became food to all the animals of the field, and were scattered.
And they were scattered because there was no shepherd; and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, and were scattered.
And they are scattered from want of a shepherd, And are for food to every beast of
the field, Yea, they are scattered.
Ezekiel 34 6
My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill: yes, my sheep were scattered on all the surface of the earth; and there was none who searched or sought.
My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill, and my sheep
have been scattered upon all the face of the earth, and there was none that searched, or
that sought for them.
Go astray do My flock on all the mountains, And on every high hill, And on all the
face of the land have My flock been scattered, And there is none inquiring, and
none seeking.
Ezekiel 34 7
Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh:

Ezekiel 34 8
As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the animals of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and didn`t fed my sheep;
[As] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, verily because my sheep have been a prey, and my
sheep have been meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, and my
shepherds searched not for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my
flock, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, If not, because of My flock being for a
prey, Yea, My flock is for food to every beast of the field, Because there is no
shepherd, And My shepherds have not sought My flock, And the shepherds do feed
themselves, And My flock they have not fed.
Ezekiel 34 9
therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh:
-- therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of Jehovah.
Therefore, O shepherds, hear a word of Jehovah:
Ezekiel 34 10

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my
sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock: that the shepherds
may feed themselves no more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they
may not be food for them.
Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against the shepherds, And have required
My flock from their hand, And caused them to cease from feeding the flock, And no
more do the shepherds feed themselves, And I have delivered My flock from their
mouth, And they are not to them for food.
Ezekiel 34 11
For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.

sought it out.
Ezekiel 34 12
As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered
abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
As a shepherd tendeth his flock in the day that he is among his scattered sheep, so will I
tend my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places whither they have been scattered
in the cloudy and dark day.
As a shepherd`s searching of his drove, In the day of his being in the midst of his
scattered flock, so I do seek My flock, And have delivered them out of all places,
Whither they have been scattered, In a day of cloud and thick darkness.
Ezekiel 34 13
I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

bring them to their own land; and I will feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the
water-courses, and in all the habitable places of the country.

Israel, By streams, and by all dwellings of the land.
Ezekiel 34 14
I will feed them with good pasture; and on the mountains of the height of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie down in a good fold; and on fat pasture shall they feed on the mountains of Israel.
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold
be: there shall they lie down in a good fold, and in a fat pasture they shall feed upon the
mountains of Israel.
With good pasture I do feed them, And on mountains of the high place of Israel is
their habitation, There do they lie down in a good habitation, And fat pastures
they enjoy on mountains of Israel.
Ezekiel 34 15
I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down, says the Lord Yahweh.

broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the

sheep, between the rams and the he-goats.

sheep, Between rams and he-goats.
Ezekiel 34 18
Seems it a small thing to you to have fed on the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? and to have drunk of the clear waters, but you must foul the residue with your feet?
Is it too small a thing unto you to have eaten up the good pastures, but ye must tread
down with your feet the rest of your pastures; and to have drunk of the settled waters,
but ye must foul the rest with your feet?
Is it a little thing for you -- the good pasture ye enjoy, And the remnant of your
pasture ye tread down with your feet, And a depth of waters ye do drink, And the
remainder with your feet ye trample,
Ezekiel 34 19
As for my sheep, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet.
And my sheep have to eat that which ye have trodden with your feet, and to drink that
which ye have fouled with your feet.
And My flock the trodden thing of your feet consumeth, And the trampled thing of
your feet drinketh?
Ezekiel 34 20
Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh to them: Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.

horns, till ye have scattered them abroad,
Because with side and with shoulder ye thrust away, And with your horns push all
the diseased, Till ye have scattered them to the out-place,
Ezekiel 34 22
therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.

mountains of Israel, hear a word of Jehovah.
Ezekiel 36 2
Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because the enemy has said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The
ancient high places are become ours in possession;
Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy said against you, Aha, and the high
places of old for a possession have been to us,
Ezekiel 36 3
therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that you might be a possession to the residue of the nations, and you are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;
therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, yea, because they have made [you] desolate, and have swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a
possession unto the remnant of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers,
and in the defaming of the people:
therefore, prophesy, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because, even
because, of desolating, And of swallowing you up from round about, For your being
a possession to the remnant of the nations, And ye are taken up on the tip of the
tongue, And [are] an evil report of the people.
Ezekiel 36 4
therefore, you mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about;
therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord
Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, to the
desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and a
derision to the remnant of the nations that are round about,
Therefore, O mountains of Israel, Hear a word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus said the
Lord Jehovah, to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, And to wastes
that [are] desolate, And to cities that are forsaken, That have been for a prey, And
for a scorn, to the remnant of the nations who [are] round about.
Ezekiel 36 5
therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land to themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.
-- therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken
against the remnant of the nations, and against the whole of Edom, which have appointed
my land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all [their] heart, with despite of
soul, to plunder it by pillage.
Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Have I not, in the fire of My jealousy, Spoken
against the remnant of the nations, And against Edom -- all of it, Who gave My
land to themselves for a possession, With the joy of the whole heart -- with despite
of soul, For the sake of casting it out for a prey?
Ezekiel 36 6
Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and tell the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because you have borne the shame of the nations:
Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the
hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have
spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the ignominy of the nations;
Therefore, prophesy concerning the ground of Israel, And thou hast said to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I, in My jealousy, and in My fury, I have spoken, Because the shame of nations ye have borne.
Ezekiel 36 7
therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: I have sworn, [saying], Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.
therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have lifted up my hand, [saying,] Verily the
nations that are about you, they shall bear their shame.
Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I -- I have lifted up My hand, Do not -- the
nations who [are] with you from round about -- they their own shame bear?
Ezekiel 36 8
But you, mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are at hand to come.
And ye mountains of Israel shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my
people Israel: for they are at hand to come.
And ye, O mountains of Israel, Your branch ye give out, and your fruits ye bear for
My people Israel, For they have drawn near to come.
Ezekiel 36 9
For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn into you, and you shall be tilled and sown;
For behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown.
For, lo, I [am] for you, and have turned to you, And ye have been tilled and sown.
Ezekiel 36 10
and I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be
inhabited, and the waste places shall be built;
And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, the whole of it; and the cities
shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.
And I have multiplied on you men, All the house of Israel -- all of it, And the cities
have been inhabited, And the wastes are built.
Ezekiel 36 11
and I will multiply on you man and animal; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better [to you] than at your beginnings: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and bring forth
fruit; and I will cause you to be inhabited as [in] your former times, yea, I will make it
better than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
And I have multiplied on you man and beast, And they have multiplied and been
fruitful, And I have caused you to dwell according to your former states, And I
have done better than at your beginnings, And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah.
Ezekiel 36 12
Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no more henceforth bereave them of children.
And I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.
And I have caused man to walk over you, -- My people Israel, And they possess thee,
and thou hast been to them for an inheritance, And thou dost add no more to bereave them.
Ezekiel 36 13
Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because they say to you, You [land] are a devourer of men, and have been a bereaver of your nation;
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say unto you, Thou devourest men, and hast
bereaved thy nation,
Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because they are saying to you: A devourer of men
[art] thou, And a bereaver of thy nations thou hast been,
Ezekiel 36 14
therefore you shall devour men no more, neither bereave your nation any more, says the Lord Yahweh;
therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the
Lord Jehovah;
Therefore, man thou devourest no more, And thy nations thou causest not to
stumble any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.
Ezekiel 36 15
neither will I let you hear any more the shame of the nations, neither shall you bear the
reproach of the peoples any more, neither shall you cause your nation to stumble any more, says the Lord Yahweh.
neither will I cause thee to hear the ignominy of the nations any more, and thou shalt not
bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nation to fall
any more, saith the Lord Jehovah.
And I proclaim not unto thee any more the shame of the nations, And the reproach of peoples thou bearest no more, And thy nations stumble not any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.`
Ezekiel 36 16
Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
Ezekiel 36 17
Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.
Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way
and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a woman in her
separation.
`Son of man, The house of Israel are dwelling on their land, And they defile it by
their way and by their doings, As the uncleanness of a separated one hath their
way been before Me.
Ezekiel 36 18
Therefore I poured out my wrath on them for the blood which they had poured out on the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;
And I poured out my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and
because they had defiled it with their idols.
And I do pour out My fury upon them For the blood that they shed on the land, And
with their idols they have defiled it.
Ezekiel 36 19
and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries:
according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
And I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries:
according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
And I scatter them among nations, And they are spread through lands, According
to their way, and according to their doings, I have judged them.
Ezekiel 36 20
When they came to the nations, where they went, they profaned my holy name; in that men said of them, These are the people of Yahweh, and are gone forth out of his land.
And when they came to the nations whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when it was said of them, These are the people of Jehovah, and they are gone forth out of his land.
And one goeth in unto the nations whither they have gone, And they pollute My holy name by saying to them, The people of Jehovah [are] these, And from His land they have gone forth.
Ezekiel 36 21
But I had regard for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, where they went.
But I had pity for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the
nations whither they went.
And I have pity on My holy name, That the house of Israel have polluted among
nations whither they have gone in.
Ezekiel 36 22
Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I don`t do [this] for your sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations, where you went.
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your
sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations whither ye went.
Therefore, say to the house of Israel, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Not for your sake
am I working, O house of Israel, But -- for My holy name, That ye have polluted
among nations whither ye have gone in.
Ezekiel 36 23
I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am Yahweh, says the Lord Yahweh, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
And I will hallow my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which ye have
profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I [am] Jehovah, saith the
Lord Jehovah, when I shall be hallowed in you before their eyes.
And I have sanctified My great name, That is profaned among nations, That ye
have polluted in your midst, And known have the nations that I [am] Jehovah, An
affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, In My being sanctified in you before your eyes.
Ezekiel 36 24
For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
And I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and
will bring you into your own land.
And I have taken you out of the nations, And have gathered you out of all the lands,
And I have brought you in unto your land,
Ezekiel 36 25
I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your
uncleannesses and from all your idols will I cleanse you.
And I have sprinkled over you clean water, And ye have been clean; From all your
uncleannesses, and from all your idols, I do cleanse you.
Ezekiel 36 26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take
away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
And I have given to you a new heart, And a new spirit I give in your midst, And I
have turned aside the heart of stone out of your flesh, And I have given to you a
heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36 27
I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.
And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and keep mine
ordinances, and ye shall do them.
And My Spirit I give in your midst, And I have done this, so that in My statutes ye
walk, And My judgments ye keep, and have done them.
Ezekiel 36 28
You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ye shall be my people, and I
will be your God.
And ye have dwelt in the land that I have given to your fathers, And ye have been
to Me for a people, And I -- I am to you for God.
Ezekiel 36 29
I will save you from all your uncleanness: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine on you.
And I will save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the corn and will
multiply it, and lay no famine upon you.

and multiplied it, And I have put no famine upon you.

ye receive not any more a reproach of famine among nations.
Ezekiel 36 31
Then shall you remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
And ye shall remember your evil ways, and your doings which were not good, and shall
loathe yourselves for your iniquities and for your abominations.
And ye have remembered your ways that [are] evil, And your doings that [are] not good, And have been loathsome in your own faces, For your iniquities, and for your abominations.
Ezekiel 36 32
Nor for your sake do I [this], says the Lord Yahweh, be it known to you: be ashamed and
confounded for your ways, house of Israel.
Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.
Not for your sake am I working, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Be it known to
you, Be ashamed and confounded, because of your ways, O house of Israel.
Ezekiel 36 33
Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built.

will also cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.
Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In the day of My cleansing you from all your iniquities, I have caused the cities to be inhabited, And the wastes have been
  Ezekiel 36 34
The land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all who passed by.
And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that
passed by.
And the desolate land is tilled, Instead of which it was a desolation before the eyes
of every passer by,
Ezekiel 36 35
They shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.
And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the
waste and desolate and ruined cities [are] fortified [and] inhabited.
And they have said: This land, that was desolated, Hath been as the garden of Eden, And the cities -- the wasted, And the desolated, and the broken down, Fenced places have remained.
Ezekiel 36 36
Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, Yahweh, have built the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and I will do it.
And the nations that shall be left round about you shall know that I Jehovah build the
ruined places [and] plant that which was desolate: I Jehovah have spoken, and I will do
[it].

built the thrown down, I have planted the desolated: I Jehovah have spoken, and I
have done [it].
Ezekiel 36 37
Thus says the Lord Yahweh: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do

them, I multiply them as a flock of men,
Ezekiel 36 38
As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her set feasts, so shall the waste cities be
filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
As a flock of holy ones, as a flock of Jerusalem, In her appointed seasons, So are the
waste cities full of flocks of men, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah!`

1 Peter 3

1Pe 3:1 In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word;
1Pe 3:2 seeing your pure behavior in fear.
1Pe 3:3 Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;
1Pe 3:4 but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.
1Pe 3:5 For this is how the holy women before, who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:
1Pe 3:6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.
1Pe 3:7 You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.
1Pe 3:8 Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
1Pe 3:9 not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.
1Pe 3:10 For, "He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.
1Pe 3:11 Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.
1Pe 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
1Pe 3:13 Now who is he who will harm you, if you become imitators of that which is good?
1Pe 3:14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "Don't fear what they fear, neither be troubled."
1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:
1Pe 3:16 having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good manner of life in Christ.
1Pe 3:17 For it is better, if it is God's will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil.
1Pe 3:18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
1Pe 3:19 in which he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,
1Pe 3:20 who before were disobedient, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
1Pe 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
1Pe 3:22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

The Composite Bible
The World English Bible
Darby's Translation
Young's Literal Translation

The Composite Bible is a effort to understand the Bible by considering it from different perspectives and different levels of literalcy. First, read the World English Bible (the least literal-black text) for comprehension of the text. Next, read both the World English Bible with the Darby Translation (more literal-blue text)to make comparisons and lastly, read all three versions (Young's is the most literal translation- red text) at one time to obtain an overview of the text. Doing this will make you think about what the Scriptures are actually saying and avoid reading in a superficial manner.
1 Peter

1 Peter 3 1
In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don`t obey the Word, they may be gained by the behavior of their wives without a word;
Likewise, wives, [be] subject to your own husbands, that, even if any are disobedient to
the word, they may be gained without [the] word by the conversation of the wives,
In like manner, the wives, be ye subject to your own husbands, that even if certain
are disobedient to the word, through the conversation of the wives, without the
word, they may be won,
1 Peter 3 2
seeing your pure behavior in fear.
having witnessed your pure conversation [carried out] in fear;
having beheld your pure behaviour in fear,
1 Peter 3 3
Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;
whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or
putting on apparel;
whose adorning -- let it not be that which is outward, of plaiting of hair, and of
putting around of things of gold, or of putting on of garments,
1 Peter 3 4
but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.
but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible [ornament] of a meek and quiet
spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
but -- the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible thing of the meek and
quiet spirit, which is, before God, of great price,
1 Peter 3 5
For this is how the holy women before, who hoped in God, also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:
For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves,
being subject to their own husbands;
for thus once also the holy women who did hope on God, were adorning themselves,
being subject to their own husbands,
1 Peter 3 6
as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.
as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good,
and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
as Sarah was obedient to Abraham, calling him `sir,` of whom ye did become
daughters, doing good, and not fearing any terror.
1 Peter 3 7
You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; not cutting off your prayers.
[Ye] husbands likewise, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, as with a weaker,
[even] the female, vessel, giving [them] honour, as also fellow-heirs of [the] grace of life,
that your prayers be not hindered.
The husbands, in like manner, dwelling with [them], according to knowledge, as
to a weaker vessel -- to the wife -- imparting honour, as also being heirs together
of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
1 Peter 3 8
Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
Finally, [be] all of one mind, sympathising, full of brotherly love, tender hearted, humble
minded;
And finally, being all of one mind, having fellow-feeling, loving as brethren,
compassionate, courteous,
1 Peter 3 9
not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.
not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing [others],
because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
not giving back evil for evil, or railing for railing, and on the contrary, blessing,
having known that to this ye were called, that a blessing ye may inherit;
1 Peter 3 10
For, "He who would love life, And see good days, Let him keep his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.
For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil
and his lips that they speak no guile.
for `he who is willing to love life, and to see good days, let him guard his tongue
from evil, and his lips -- not to speak guile;
1 Peter 3 11
Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.
And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
let him turn aside from evil, and do good, let him seek peace and pursue it;
1 Peter 3 12
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And his ears open to their prayer; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
because [the] eyes of [the] Lord [are] on [the] righteous, and his ears towards their
supplications; but [the] face of [the] Lord [is] against them that do evil.
because the eyes of the Lord [are] upon the righteous, and His ears -- to their
supplication, and the face of the Lord [is] upon those doing evil;`
1 Peter 3 13
Now who is he who will harm you, if you become imitators of that which is good?
And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which [is] good?
and who [is] he who will be doing you evil, if of Him who is good ye may become
imitators?
1 Peter 3 14
But even if you should suffer for righteousness` sake, you are blessed. "Don`t fear what they fear, neither be troubled."
But if also ye should suffer for righteousness` sake, blessed [are ye]; but be not afraid of
their fear, neither be troubled;
but if ye also should suffer because of righteousness, happy [are ye]! and of their
fear be not afraid, nor be troubled,
1 Peter 3 15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:
but sanctify [the] Lord the Christ in your hearts, and [be] always prepared to [give] an
answer [to] every one that asks you to give an account of the hope that [is] in you, but
with meekness and fear;
and the Lord God sanctify in your hearts. And [be] ready always for defence to
every one who is asking of you an account concerning the hope that [is] in you,
with meekness and fear;
1 Peter 3 16
having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.
having a good conscience, that [as to that] in which they speak against you as evildoers,
they may be ashamed who calumniate your good conversation in Christ.
having a good conscience, that in that in which they speak against you as evil-
doers, they may be ashamed who are traducing your good behaviour in Christ;
1 Peter 3 17
For it is better, if the will of God should so will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil
  For [it is] better, if the will of God should will it, to suffer [as] well-doers than [as]
evildoers;
for [it is] better doing good, if the will of God will it, to suffer, than doing evil;
1 Peter 3 18
Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
for Christ indeed has once suffered for sins, [the] just for [the] unjust, that he might
bring us to God; being put to death in flesh, but made alive in [the] Spirit,
