Isaiah 49-52

Isa 49:1 Listen, islands, to me; and listen, you peoples, from far: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name:
Isa 49:2 and he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand has he hid me: and he has made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he kept me close:
Isa 49:3 and he said to me, "You are my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified."
Isa 49:4 But I said, "I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely the justice due to me is with Yahweh, and my reward with my God."
Isa 49:5 Now says Yahweh who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, and that Israel be gathered to him (for I am honorable in the eyes of Yahweh, and my God is become my strength);
Isa 49:6 yes, he says, "It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth."
Isa 49:7 Thus says Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you."
Isa 49:8 Thus says Yahweh, "In an acceptable time have I answered you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage:
Isa 49:9 saying to those who are bound, 'Come out!'; to those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves!' "They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture.
Isa 49:10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water he will guide them.
Isa 49:11 I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
Isa 49:12 Behold, these shall come from far; and behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim."
Isa 49:13 Sing, heavens; and be joyful, earth; and break forth into singing, mountains: for Yahweh has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.
Isa 49:14 But Zion said, "Yahweh has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me."
Isa 49:15 "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!
Isa 49:16 Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.
Isa 49:17 Your children make haste; your destroyers and those who made you waste shall go forth from you.
Isa 49:18 Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live," says Yahweh, "you shall surely clothe you with them all as with an ornament, and gird yourself with them, like a bride.
Isa 49:19 "For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely now you shall be too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up shall be far away.
Isa 49:20 The children of your bereavement shall yet say in your ears, The place is too small for me; give place to me that I may dwell.
Isa 49:21 Then you will say in your heart, 'Who has conceived these for me, seeing I have been bereaved of my children, and am solitary, an exile, and wandering back and forth? Who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where were they?' "
Isa 49:22 Thus says the Lord Yahweh, "Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my banner to the peoples; and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
Isa 49:23 Kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am Yahweh; and those who wait for me shall not be disappointed."
Isa 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?
Isa 49:25 But thus says Yahweh, "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.
Isa 49:26 I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."
Isa 50:1 Thus says Yahweh, "Where is the bill of your mother's divorce, with which I have put her away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away.
Isa 50:2 Why, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can't redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst.
Isa 50:3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering."
Isa 50:4 The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him who is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.
Isa 50:5 The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away backward.
Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the strikers, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair; I didn't hide my face from shame and spitting.
Isa 50:7 For the Lord Yahweh will help me; therefore I have not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be disappointed.
Isa 50:8 He is near who justifies me; who will bring charges against me? Let us stand up together: who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.
Isa 50:9 Behold, the Lord Yahweh will help me; who is he who shall condemn me? Behold, all they shall wax old as a garment, the moth shall eat them up.
Isa 50:10 Who is among you who fears Yahweh, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of Yahweh, and rely on his God.
Isa 50:11 Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who gird yourselves about with firebrands; walk you in the flame of your fire, and among the brands that you have kindled. You shall have this of my hand; you shall lie down in sorrow.
Isa 51:1 "Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek Yahweh: look to the rock whence you were cut, and to the hold of the pit whence you were dug.
Isa 51:2 Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.
Isa 51:3 For Yahweh has comforted Zion; he has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Yahweh; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
Isa 51:4 "Attend to me, my people; and give ear to me, my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.
Isa 51:5 My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the islands shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust.
Isa 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Isa 51:7 "Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; don't you fear the reproach of men, neither be you dismayed at their insults.
Isa 51:8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation to all generations."
Isa 51:9 Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn't it you who did cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?
Isa 51:10 Isn't it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?
Isa 51:11 The ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be on their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Isa 51:12 "I, even I, am he who comforts you: who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass;
Isa 51:13 and have forgotten Yahweh your Maker, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
Isa 51:14 The captive exile shall speedily be freed; and he shall not die and go down into the pit, neither shall his bread fail.
Isa 51:15 For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar: Yahweh of Armies is his name.
Isa 51:16 I have put my words in your mouth, and have covered you in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and tell Zion, 'You are my people.' "
Isa 51:17 Awake, awake, stand up, Jerusalem, that have drunk at the hand of Yahweh the cup of his wrath; you have drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.
Isa 51:18 There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she has brought forth; neither is there any who takes her by the hand among all the sons who she has brought up.
Isa 51:19 These two things have happened to you. Who will bemoan you? Desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort you?
Isa 51:20 Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net; they are full of the wrath of Yahweh, the rebuke of your God.
Isa 51:21 Therefore hear now this, you afflicted, and drunken, but now with wine:
Isa 51:22 Thus says your Lord Yahweh, and your God who pleads the cause of his people, "Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; you shall no more drink it again:
Isa 51:23 and I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your soul, 'Bow down, that we may walk over you;' and you have laid your back as the ground, and as the street, to those who walk over."
Isa 52:1 Awake, awake, put on your strength, Zion; put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Isa 52:2 Shake yourself from the dust; arise, sit on your throne, Jerusalem: loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, captive daughter of Zion.
Isa 52:3 For thus says Yahweh, "You were sold for nothing; and you shall be redeemed without money."
Isa 52:4 For thus says the Lord Yahweh, "My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there: and the Assyrian has oppressed them without cause.
Isa 52:5 "Now therefore, what do I here," says Yahweh, "seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? those who rule over them mock," says Yahweh, "and my name continually all the day is blasphemed.
Isa 52:6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he who does speak; behold, it is I."
Isa 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
Isa 52:8 The voice of your watchmen! they lift up the voice, together do they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when Yahweh returns to Zion.
Isa 52:9 Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem; for Yahweh has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
Isa 52:10 Yahweh has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Isa 52:11 Depart you, depart you, go you out from there, touch no unclean thing; go you out of the midst of her; cleanse yourselves, you who bear the vessels of Yahweh.
Isa 52:12 For you shall not go out in haste, neither shall you go by flight: for Yahweh will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rearward.
Isa 52:13 Behold, my servant shall deal wisely, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high.
Isa 52:14 Like as many were astonished at you (his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men),
Isa 52:15 so shall he sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they understand.

The Composite Bible
The World English Bible
Darby's Translation
Young's Literal Translation

The Composite Bible is a effort to understand the Bible by considering it from different perspectives and different levels of literalcy. First, read the World English Bible (the least literal-black text) for comprehension of the text. Next, read both the World English Bible with the Darby Translation (more literal-blue text)to make comparisons and lastly, read all three versions (Young's is the most literal translation- red text) at one time to obtain an overview of the text. Doing this will make you think about what the Scriptures are actually saying and avoid reading in a superficial manner.
Isaiah

Isaiah 49 1
Listen, isles, to me; and listen, you peoples, from far: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name:
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye peoples from afar. Jehovah hath called me from
the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
Hearken, O isles, unto me, And attend, O peoples, from afar, Jehovah from the
womb hath called me, From the bowels of my mother He hath made mention of my
name.
Isaiah 49 2
and he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand has he hid me: and he has made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he kept me close:
And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hath concealed me under the shadow
of his hand, and he hath made me a polished shaft: in his quiver hath he hidden me.
And he maketh my mouth as a sharp sword, In the shadow of His hand He hath hid
me, And He maketh me for a clear arrow, In His quiver He hath hid me.
Isaiah 49 3
and he said to me, You are my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
And he said unto me, Thou art my servant, Israel, in whom I will glorify myself.
And He saith to me, `My servant Thou art, O Israel, In whom I beautify Myself.`
Isaiah 49 4
But I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely the justice [due] to me is with Yahweh, and my recompense with my God.
-- And I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought and in vain;
nevertheless my judgment is with Jehovah, and my work with my God.
And I said, `For a vain thing I laboured, For emptiness and vanity my power I
consumed, But my judgment [is] with Jehovah, And my wage with my God.
Isaiah 49 5
Now says Yahweh who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, and that Israel be gathered to him (for I am honorable in the eyes of Yahweh, and my God is become my strength);
And now, saith Jehovah, that formed me from the womb to be his servant, that I should
bring Jacob again to him; (though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorified in the
eyes of Jehovah, and my God shall be my strength;)
And now, said Jehovah, who is forming me from the belly for a servant to Him, To
bring back Jacob unto Him, (Though Israel is not gathered, Yet I am honoured in
the eyes of Jehovah, And my God hath been my strength.)
Isaiah 49 6
yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.
-- and he saith, It is a small thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes
of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel; I have even given thee for a light of the
nations, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
And He saith, `It hath been a light thing That thou art to Me for a servant To raise
up the tribes of Jacob, And the preserved of Israel to bring back, And I have given
thee for a light of nations, To be My salvation unto the end of the earth.`

Thus saith Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to
him whom the nation abhorreth, to the servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise,
princes, and they shall worship, because of Jehovah who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel,
who hath chosen thee.
Thus said Jehovah, Redeemer of Israel, His Holy One, To the despised in soul, To the

princes, and worship, For the sake of Jehovah, who is faithful, The Holy of Israel,
and He chooseth thee.`

salvation have I helped thee; and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the
people, to establish the land, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

saying to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They
shall feed in the ways, and their pasture shall be on all bare hills.
To say to the bound, Go out, To those in darkness, Be uncovered. On the ways they
feed, And in all high places is their pasture.
Isaiah 49 10
They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has
mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water will he guide them.
They shall not hunger nor thirst, neither shall the heat nor sun smite them; for he that
hath mercy on them will lead them, and by the springs of water will he guide them.
They do not hunger, nor thirst, Nor smite them doth mirage and sun, For He who
is pitying them doth lead them, And by fountains of waters doth tend them.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of
her womb? Even these forget, but I will not forget thee.
Forget doth a woman her suckling, The loved one -- the son of her womb? Yea,
these forget -- but I -- I forget not thee.
Isaiah 49 16
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.

Lo, on the palms of the hand I have graven thee, Thy walls [are] before Me continually.
Isaiah 49 17
Your children make haste; your destroyers and those who made you waste shall go forth from you.
Thy sons shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that laid thee waste shall go forth
from thee.
Hastened have those building thee, Those destroying thee, and laying thee waste,
go out from thee.
Isaiah 49 18
Lift up your eyes round about, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As
I live, says Yahweh, you shall surely clothe you with them all as with an ornament, and gird
yourself with them, like a bride.
Lift up thine eyes round about and behold: they all gather themselves together, they
come to thee. As I live, saith Jehovah, thou shalt indeed clothe thee with them all as with
an ornament, and bind them on as a bride doth.
Lift up round about thine eyes and see, All of them have been gathered, They have
come to thee. I live, an affirmation of Jehovah! Surely all of them as an ornament
thou puttest on, And thou bindest them on like a bride.
Isaiah 49 19
For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely
now shall you be too strait for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up shall be far away.
For [in] thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy destroyed land, thou shalt even now be
too straitened by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far
away.
Because thy wastes, and thy desolate places, And the land of thy ruins, Surely now
are straitened because of inhabitants, And far off have been those consuming thee.
Isaiah 49 20
The children of your bereavement shall yet say in your ears, The place is too strait for me; give place to me that I may dwell.
The children of thy bereavement shall yet say in thine ears, The place is too narrow for
me: make room for me, that I may dwell.
Again do the sons of thy bereavement say in thine ears: `The place is too strait for
me, Come nigh to me -- and I dwell.`
Isaiah 49 21
Then shall you say in your heart, Who has conceived these for me, seeing I have been bereaved of my children, and am solitary, an exile, and wandering back and forth? and who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where were they?
And thou shalt say in thy heart, Who hath borne me these, seeing I had lost my children
and was desolate, an exile, and driven about? and who hath brought up these? behold, I
was left alone; these, where were they?
And thou hast said in thy heart: `Who hath begotten for me -- these? And I
bereaved and gloomy, A captive, and turned aside, And these -- who hath
nourished? Lo, I -- I was left by myself, these -- whence [are] they?
Isaiah 49 22
Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my ensign to the peoples; and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my
banner to the peoples; and they shall bring thy sons in [their] bosom, and thy daughters
shall be carried upon the shoulder.
Thus said the Lord Jehovah: `Lo, I lift up unto nations My hand, And unto peoples I
raise up Mine ensign, And they have brought thy sons in the bosom, And thy
daughters on the shoulder are carried.
Isaiah 49 23
Kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow
down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am Yahweh; and those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.
And kings shall be thy nursing-fathers, and their princesses thy nursing-mothers: they
shall bow down to thee with the face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet.
And thou shalt know that I [am] Jehovah; for they shall not be ashamed who wait on me.
And kings have been thy nursing fathers, And their princesses thy nursing
mothers; Face to the earth -- they bow down to thee, And the dust of thy feet they
lick up, And thou hast known that I [am] Jehovah, That those expecting Me are not
ashamed.
Isaiah 49 24
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty? and shall he that is rightfully captive be
delivered?
Is prey taken from the mighty? And the captive of the righteous delivered?
Isaiah 49 25
But thus says Yahweh, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.
For thus saith Jehovah: Even the captive of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey
of the terrible shall be delivered; and I will strive with him that striveth with thee, and
I will save thy children.
For thus said Jehovah: Even the captive of the mighty is taken, And the prey of the
terrible is delivered, And with thy striver I strive, and thy sons I save.
Isaiah 49 26
I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken
with their own blood, as with new wine. And all flesh shall know that I, Jehovah, [am] thy
Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
And I have caused thine oppressors to eat their own flesh, And as new wine they
drink their own blood, And known have all flesh that I, Jehovah, Thy saviour, and
thy redeemer, [Am] the Mighty One of Jacob!`
Isaiah 50 1
Thus says Yahweh, Where is the bill of your mother`s divorce, with which I have put her  away?
or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities were you
sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away.
Thus saith Jehovah: Where is the bill of your mother`s divorce, whom I have put away? or
which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, through your iniquities
have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.
Thus said Jehovah: `Where [is] this -- the bill of your mother`s divorce, Whom I
sent away? Or to which of My creditors have I sold you? Lo, for your iniquities ye
have been sold, And for your transgressions Hath your mother been sent away.
Isaiah 50 2
Why, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand
shortened at all, that it can`t redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst.
Wherefore did I come, and there was no man? I called, and there was none to answer? Is
my hand at all shortened that I cannot redeem, or have I no power to deliver? behold, at
my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make rivers a wilderness; their fish stink because there is
no water, and die for thirst.
Wherefore have I come, and there is no one? I called, and there is none answering,
Hath My hand been at all short of redemption? And is there not in me power to
deliver? Lo, by My rebuke I dry up a sea, I make rivers a wilderness, Their fish
stinketh, for there is no water, And dieth with thirst.
Isaiah 50 3
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
I clothe the heavens [with] blackness, And sackcloth I make their covering.
Isaiah 50 4
The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to
sustain with words him who is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.
The Lord Jehovah hath given me the tongue of the instructed, that I should know how to
succour by a word him that is weary. He wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth
mine ear to hear as the instructed.
The Lord Jehovah hath given to me The tongue of taught ones, To know to aid the
weary [by] a word, He waketh morning by morning, He waketh for me an ear to
hear as taught ones.
Isaiah 50 5
The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away backward.
The Lord Jehovah hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious; I turned not away back.
The Lord Jehovah opened for me the ear, And I rebelled not -- backward I moved
not.
Isaiah 50 6
I gave my back to the strikers, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair; I didn`t hide my face from shame and spitting.
I gave my back to smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair; I hid not my
face from shame and spitting.
My back I have given to those smiting, And my cheeks to those plucking out, My
face I hid not from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 50 7
For the Lord Yahweh will help me; therefore I have not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.
But the Lord Jehovah will help me: therefore shall I not be confounded; therefore have I
set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
And the Lord Jehovah giveth help to me, Therefore I have not been ashamed,
Therefore I have set my face as a flint, And I know that I am not ashamed.
Isaiah 50 8
He is near who justifies me; who will bring charges against me? Let us stand up together: who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.
He is near that justifieth me: who will contend with me? let us stand together; who is
mine adverse party? let him draw near unto me.
Near [is] He who is justifying me, Who doth contend with me? We stand together,
who [is] mine opponent? Let him come nigh unto me.

Behold, the Lord Jehovah will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? Behold, they all
shall grow old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

all of them as a garment wear out, A moth doth eat them.
Isaiah 50 10
Who is among you who fears Yahweh, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in
darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of Yahweh, and rely on his God.
Who is among you that feareth Jehovah, that hearkeneth to the voice of his servant? he
that walketh in darkness, and hath no light, -- let him confide in the name of Jehovah,
and stay himself upon his God.
Who [is] among you, fearing Jehovah, Hearkening to the voice of His servant, That
hath walked in dark places, And there is no brightness for him? Let him trust in
the name of Jehovah, And lean upon his God.

Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who gird yourselves about with firebrands; walk you in the flame of your fire, and among the brands that you have kindled. This shall you have of my hand; you shall lie down in sorrow.
Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the
light of your fire, and among the sparks [that] ye have kindled. This shall ye have of my
hand: ye shall lie down in sorrow.
Lo, all ye kindling a fire, girding on sparks, Walk ye in the light of your fire, And
in the sparks ye have caused to burn, From my hand hath this been to you, In grief
ye lie down!
Isaiah 51 1
Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek Yahweh: look to the rock whence you were hewn, and to the hold of the pit whence you were dug.
Hearken unto me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek Jehovah: look unto the
rock [whence] ye were hewn, and to the hole of the pit [whence] ye were digged.
Hearken unto Me, ye pursuing righteousness, Seeking Jehovah, Look attentively
unto the rock -- ye have been hewn, And unto the hole of the pit -- ye have been
digged.

Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bore you; for I called him when he
was alone, and blessed him, and multiplied him.
Look attentively unto Abraham your father, And unto Sarah -- she bringeth you
forth, For -- one -- I have called him, And I bless him, and multiply him.

For Yahweh has comforted Zion; he has comforted all her waste places, and has made her
wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Yahweh; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah: gladness and joy
shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of song.

Attend to me, my people; and give ear to me, my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.
Listen unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, my nation: for a law shall proceed from
me, and I will establish my judgment for a light of the peoples.

My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust.
My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the
peoples: the isles shall wait for me, and in mine arm shall they trust.
Near [is] My righteousness, Gone out hath My salvation and Mine arms, Peoples
they judge, on Me isles do wait, Yea, on Mine arm they do wait with hope.
Isaiah 51 6
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath: for the heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall grow old like a garment, and they that dwell
therein shall die in like manner; but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness
shall not be abolished.
Lift ye up to the heavens your eyes, And look attentively unto the earth beneath,
For the heavens as smoke have vanished, And the earth as a garment weareth out,
And its inhabitants as gnats do die, And My salvation is to the age, And My
righteousness is not broken.
Isaiah 51 7
Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; don`t you fear the reproach of men, neither be you dismayed at their insults.
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear
not the reproach of men, and be not afraid of their revilings.
Hearken unto Me, ye who know righteousness, A people, in whose heart [is] My
law, Fear ye not the reproach of men, And for their reviling be not affrighted,

For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but
my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

righteousness is to the age, And My salvation to all generations.

Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn`t it you who did cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah; awake, as in the days of old, [as in] the
generations of passed ages. Is it not thou that hath hewn Rahab in pieces, [and] pierced

dieth! And of the son of man -- grass he is made!

and have forgotten Yahweh your Maker, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the
foundations of the earth; and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
and forgettest Jehovah thy Maker, who hath stretched out the heavens, and laid the
foundations of the earth; and thou art afraid continually all the day because of the fury of
the oppressor, when he prepareth to destroy? And where is the fury of the oppressor?
And thou dost forget Jehovah thy maker, Who is stretching out the heavens, and
founding earth, And thou dost fear continually all the day, Because of the fury of
the oppressor, As he hath prepared to destroy. And where [is] the fury of the
oppressor?

Hosts [is] His name.

plant the heavens, and to lay the foundations of the earth, and to say unto Zion, Thou art

And I put My words in thy mouth, And with the shadow of My hand have covered
thee, To plant the heavens, and to found earth, And to say to Zion, `My people [art]
thou.`

are full of the fury of Jehovah, the rebuke of thy God.

down, that we may go over; and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street to

street to those passing by!`

2 Timothy 2

2Ti 2:1 You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 2:2 The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
2Ti 2:3 You therefore must endure hardship, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
2Ti 2:4 No soldier on duty entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.
2Ti 2:5 Also, if anyone competes in athletics, he isn't crowned unless he has competed by the rules.
2Ti 2:6 The farmers who labor must be the first to get a share of the crops.
2Ti 2:7 Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
2Ti 2:8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my Good News,
2Ti 2:9 in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God's word isn't chained.
2Ti 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones' sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
2Ti 2:11 This saying is faithful: "For if we died with him, we will also live with him.
2Ti 2:12 If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.
2Ti 2:13 If we are faithless, he remains faithful. He can't deny himself."
2Ti 2:14 Remind them of these things, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they don't argue about words, to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.
2Ti 2:15 Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn't need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.
2Ti 2:16 But shun empty chatter, for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
2Ti 2:17 and their word will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
2Ti 2:18 men who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and overthrowing the faith of some.
2Ti 2:19 However God's firm foundation stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness."
2Ti 2:20 Now in a large house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of clay. Some are for honor, and some for dishonor.
2Ti 2:21 If anyone therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master's use, prepared for every good work.
2Ti 2:22 Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2Ti 2:23 But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.
2Ti 2:24 The Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient,
2Ti 2:25 in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,
2Ti 2:26 and they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.

2 Timothy

2 Timothy 2 1
You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Thou therefore, my child, be strong in the grace which [is] in Christ Jesus.
Thou, therefore, my child, be strong in the grace that [is] in Christ Jesus,
2 Timothy 2 2
The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
And the things thou hast heard of me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to
faithful men, such as shall be competent to instruct others also.
and the things that thou didst hear from me through many witnesses, these
things be committing to stedfast men, who shall be sufficient also others to teach;
2 Timothy 2 3
You therefore must endure hardship, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
Take thy share in suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
thou, therefore, suffer evil as a good soldier of Jesus Christ;
2 Timothy 2 4
No soldier on service entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who
enrolled him as a soldier.
No one going as a soldier entangles himself with the affairs of life, that he may please
him who has enlisted him as a soldier.
no one serving as a soldier did entangle himself with the affairs of life, that him
who did enlist him he may please;
2 Timothy 2 5
If also a man competes in the games, he is not crowned, unless he has competed by the rules.
And if also any one contend [in the games], he is not crowned unless he contend lawfully.
and if also any one may strive, he is not crowned, except he may strive lawfully;

The farmers who labor must be the first to get a share of the crops.
The husbandman must labour before partaking of the fruits.
the labouring husbandman it behoveth first of the fruits to partake;
2 Timothy 2 7
Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
Think of what I say, for the Lord will give thee understanding in all things.
be considering what things I say, for the Lord give to thee understanding in all
things.
2 Timothy 2 8
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel,
Remember Jesus Christ raised from among [the] dead, of [the] seed of David, according to
my glad tidings,
Remember Jesus Christ, raised out of the dead, of the seed of David, according to
my good news,
2 Timothy 2 9
in which I suffer hardship to bonds, as a criminal. But God`s word isn`t bound.
in which I suffer even unto bonds as an evil-doer: but the word of God is not bound.
in which I suffer evil -- unto bonds, as an evil-doer, but the word of God hath not
been bound;
2 Timothy 2 10
Therefore I endure all things for the elect`s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
For this cause I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that *they* also may obtain the
salvation which [is] in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
because of this all things do I endure, because of the choice ones, that they also
salvation may obtain that [is] in Christ Jesus, with glory age-during.
2 Timothy 2 11
This saying is faithful: For if we died with him, we will also live with him.
The word [is] faithful; for if we have died together with [him], we shall also live together;
Stedfast [is] the word: For if we died together -- we also shall live together;
2 Timothy 2 12
If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we will deny him, he also will deny us.
if we endure, we shall also reign together; if we deny, *he* also will deny us;
if we do endure together -- we shall also reign together; if we deny [him], he also
shall deny us;
2 Timothy 2 13
If we are faithless, he remains faithful -- he can`t deny himself.
if we are unfaithful, *he* abides faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
if we are not stedfast, he remaineth stedfast; to deny himself he is not able.
2 Timothy 2 14
Remind them of these things, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they don`t argue
about words, to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.
Of these things put in remembrance, testifying earnestly before the Lord not to have
disputes of words, profitable for nothing, to the subversion of the hearers.
These things remind [them] of, testifying fully before the Lord -- not to strive
about words to nothing profitable, but to the subversion of those hearing;
2 Timothy 2 15
Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn`t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.
Strive diligently to present thyself approved to God, a workman that has not to be
ashamed, cutting in a straight line the word of truth.
be diligent to present thyself approved to God -- a workman irreproachable,
rightly dividing the word of the truth;
2 Timothy 2 16
But shun empty chatter, for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
But profane, vain babblings shun, for they will advance to greater impiety,
and the profane vain talkings stand aloof from, for to more impiety they will advance,
2 Timothy 2 17
and their word will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
and their word will spread as a gangrene; of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
and their word as a gangrene will have pasture, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus,
2 Timothy 2 18
men who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and
overthrowing the faith of some.
[men] who as to the truth have gone astray, saying that the resurrection has taken place
already; and overthrow the faith of some.
who concerning the truth did swerve, saying the rising again to have already
been, and do overthrow the faith of some;
2 Timothy 2 19
However God`s firm foundation stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness."
Yet the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, [The] Lord knows those that are
his; and, Let every one who names the name of [the] Lord withdraw from iniquity.
sure, nevertheless, hath the foundation of God stood, having this seal, `The Lord
hath known those who are His,` and `Let him depart from unrighteousness -- every
one who is naming the name of Christ.`
2 Timothy 2 20
Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of clay.
Some are for honor, and some for dishonor.
But in a great house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also wooden and
earthen; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
And in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of
wood and of earth, and some to honour, and some to dishonour:
2 Timothy 2 21
If a man therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and
suitable for the master`s use, prepared for every good work.
If therefore one shall have purified himself from these, [in separating himself from
them], he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified, serviceable to the Master, prepared for
every good work.
if, then, any one may cleanse himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honour,
sanctified and profitable to the master -- to every good work having been
prepared,
2 Timothy 2 22
Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But youthful lusts flee, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those that call
upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
and the youthful lusts flee thou, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with
those calling upon the Lord out of a pure heart;
2 Timothy 2 23
But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.
But foolish and senseless questionings avoid, knowing that they beget contentions.
and the foolish and uninstructed questions be avoiding, having known that they
beget strife,
2 Timothy 2 24
The Lord`s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient,
And a bondman of [the] Lord ought not to contend, but be gentle towards all; apt to teach;
forbearing;
and a servant of the Lord it behoveth not to strive, but to be gentle unto all, apt to
teach, patient under evil,
2 Timothy 2 25
in gentleness correcting those who oppose him; if perhaps God may give them repentance to the knowledge of the truth,
in meekness setting right those who oppose, if God perhaps may sometime give them
repentance to acknowledgment of [the] truth,
in meekness instructing those opposing -- if perhaps God may give to them
repentance to an acknowledging of the truth,
2 Timothy 2 26
and they may recover themselves out of the devil`s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.
and that they may awake up out of the snare of the devil, [who are] taken by him, for *his*
will.
and they may awake out of the devil`s snare, having been caught by him at his will.
