Ezekiel 25-28

Eze 25:1 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 25:2 Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them:

Eze 25:3 and tell the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Because you said, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

Eze 25:4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in you, and make their dwellings in you; they shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk.

Eze 25:5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

Eze 25:6 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have clapped your hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of your soul against the land of Israel;

Eze 25:7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries: I will destroy you; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

Eze 25:8 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;

Eze 25:9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim,

Eze 25:10 to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.

Eze 25:11 and I will execute judgments on Moab; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

Eze 25:12 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and revenged himself on them;

Eze 25:13 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; even to Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

Eze 25:14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 25:15 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of soul to destroy with perpetual enmity;

Eze 25:16 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.

Eze 25:17 I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall lay my vengeance on them.

Eze 26:1 It happened in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 26:2 Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken: the gate of the peoples; she is turned to me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste:

Eze 26:3 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up.

Eze 26:4 They shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock.

Eze 26:5 She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh; and she shall become a spoil to the nations.

Eze 26:6 Her daughters who are in the field shall be slain with the sword: and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

Eze 26:7 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will bring on Tyre Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and much people.

Eze 26:8 He shall kill with the sword your daughters in the field; and he shall make forts against you, and cast up a mound against you, and raise up the buckler against you.

Eze 26:9 He shall set his battering engines against your walls, and with his axes he shall break down your towers.

Eze 26:10 By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover you: your walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into your gates, as men enter into a city in which is made a breach.

Eze 26:11 With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all your streets; he shall kill your people with the sword; and the pillars of your strength shall go down to the ground.

Eze 26:12 They shall make a spoil of your riches, and make a prey of your merchandise; and they shall break down your walls, and destroy your pleasant houses; and they shall lay your stones and your timber and your dust in the midst of the waters.

Eze 26:13 I will cause the noise of your songs to cease; and the sound of your harps shall be no more heard.

Eze 26:14 I will make you a bare rock; you shall be a place for the spreading of nets; you shall be built no more: for I Yahweh have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 26:15 Thus says the Lord Yahweh to Tyre: shall not the islands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of you?

Eze 26:16 Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their embroidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit on the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.

Eze 26:17 They shall take up a lamentation over you, and tell you, How are you destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, who was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all who lived there!

Eze 26:18 Now shall the islands tremble in the day of your fall; yes, the islands that are in the sea shall be dismayed at your departure.

Eze 26:19 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: When I shall make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep on you, and the great waters shall cover you;

Eze 26:20 then will I bring you down with those who descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make you to dwell in the lower parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living:

Eze 26:21 I will make you a terror, and you shall no more have any being; though you are sought for, yet you will never be found again, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 27:1 The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,

Eze 27:2 You, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre;

Eze 27:3 and tell Tyre, you who dwell at the entry of the sea, who are the merchant of the peoples to many islands, thus says the Lord Yahweh: You, Tyre, have said, I am perfect in beauty.

Eze 27:4 Your borders are in the heart of the seas; your builders have perfected your beauty.

Eze 27:5 They have made all your planks of fir trees from Senir; they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.

Eze 27:6 Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; they have made your benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the islands of Kittim.

Eze 27:7 Of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt was your sail, that it might be to you for a banner; blue and purple from the islands of Elishah was your awning.

Eze 27:8 The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers: your wise men, Tyre, were in you, they were your pilots.

Eze 27:9 The old men of Gebal and the wise men of it were in you your repairers of ship seams: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to deal in your merchandise.

Eze 27:10 Persia and Lud and Put were in your army, your men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in you; they set forth your comeliness.

Eze 27:11 The men of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around, and valorous men were in your towers; they hanged their shields on your walls all around; they have perfected your beauty.

Eze 27:12 Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for your wares.

Eze 27:13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for your merchandise.

Eze 27:14 They of the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses and war horses and mules.

Eze 27:15 The men of Dedan were your traffickers; many islands were the market of your hand: they brought you in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.

Eze 27:16 Syria was your merchant by reason of the multitude of your handiworks: they traded for your wares with emeralds, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.

Eze 27:17 Judah, and the land of Israel, they were your traffickers: they traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, and confections, and honey, and oil, and balm.

Eze 27:18 Damascus was your merchant for the multitude of your handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

Eze 27:19 Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for your wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among your merchandise.

Eze 27:20 Dedan was your trafficker in precious cloths for riding.

Eze 27:21 Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of your hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they your merchants.

Eze 27:22 The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were your traffickers; they traded for your wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

Eze 27:23 Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were your traffickers.

Eze 27:24 These were your traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in chests of rich clothing, bound with cords and made of cedar, among your merchandise.

Eze 27:25 The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise: and you were replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.

Eze 27:26 Your rowers have brought you into great waters: the east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.

Eze 27:27 Your riches, and your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, and your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, and the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war, who are in you, with all your company which is in the midst of you, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.

Eze 27:28 At the sound of the cry of your pilots the suburbs shall shake.

Eze 27:29 All who handled the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand on the land,

Eze 27:30 and shall cause their voice to be heard over you, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust on their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

Eze 27:31 and they shall make themselves bald for you, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for you in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.

Eze 27:32 In their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, saying, Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the midst of the sea?

Eze 27:33 When your wares went forth out of the seas, you filled many peoples; you did enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.

Eze 27:34 In the time that you were broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company did fall in the midst of you.

Eze 27:35 All the inhabitants of the islands are astonished at you, and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their face.

Eze 27:36 The merchants among the peoples hiss at you; you are become a terror, and you shall nevermore have any being.

Eze 28:1 The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,

Eze 28:2 Son of man, tell the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet you are man, and not God, though you did set your heart as the heart of God--

Eze 28:3 behold, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that is hidden from you;

Eze 28:4 by your wisdom and by your understanding you have gotten you riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasures;

Eze 28:5 by your great wisdom and by your traffic have you increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches--

Eze 28:6 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have set your heart as the heart of God,

Eze 28:7 therefore, behold, I will bring strangers on you, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they shall defile your brightness.

Eze 28:8 They shall bring you down to the pit; and you shall die the death of those who are slain, in the heart of the seas.

Eze 28:9 Will you yet say before him who kills you, I am God? but you are man, and not God, in the hand of him who wounds you.

Eze 28:10 You shall die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 28:11 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and tell him, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

Eze 28:13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared.

Eze 28:14 You were the anointed cherub who covers: and I set you, so that you were on the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Eze 28:15 You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.

Eze 28:16 By the abundance of your traffic they filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned: therefore I have cast you as profane out of the mountain of God; and I have destroyed you, covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Eze 28:17 Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I have cast you to the ground; I have laid you before kings, that they may see you.

Eze 28:18 By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your traffic, you have profaned your sanctuaries; therefore have I brought forth a fire from the midst of you; it has devoured you, and I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who see you.

Eze 28:19 All those who know you among the peoples shall be astonished at you: you are become a terror, and you shall nevermore have any being.

Eze 28:20 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 28:21 Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it,

Eze 28:22 and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Sidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of you; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.

Eze 28:23 For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, with the sword on her on every side; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

Eze 28:24 There shall be no more a pricking brier to the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any that are around them, that did despite to them; and they shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

Eze 28:25 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.

Eze 28:26 They shall dwell securely therein; yes, they shall build houses, and plant vineyards, and shall dwell securely, when I have executed judgments on all those who do them despite all around them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh their God.

Son of man, set thy face against the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them;

`Son of man, set thy face unto the sons of Ammon, and prophesy against them;

Ezekiel 25 3

and tell the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Because you said, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

and say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the

Lord Jehovah: Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and

the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of thy soul against the land of Israel;

For thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of thy clapping the hand, And of thy

stamping with the foot, And thou rejoicest with all thy despite in soul Against

the ground of Israel,

Ezekiel 25 7

therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries: I will destroy you; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

Ezekiel 25 8

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is

like unto all the nations,

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of the saying of Moab and Seir: Lo, as all the

nations [is] the house of Judah;

therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,

therefore behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities even to the

last of them, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kirjathaim,

Therefore, lo, I am opening the shoulder of Moab -- From the cities -- from his

Ezekiel 25 10

to the children of the east, [to go] against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.

unto the children of the east, with [the land of] the children of Ammon; and I will give it

them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the

nations:

To the sons of the east, with the sons of Ammon, And I have given it for a

possession, So that the sons of Ammon are not remembered among nations.

Ezekiel 25 11

and I will execute judgments on Moab; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

and I will execute judgments upon Moab, and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

And in Moab I do judgments, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah.

Ezekiel 25 12

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking

vengeance, and has greatly offended, and revenged himself on them;

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by

taking vengeance, and hath made himself very guilty, and revenged himself upon them,

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of the doings of Edom, In taking vengeance on

the house of Judah, Yea, they are very guilty, And they have taken vengeance on

them.

Ezekiel 25 13

therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; even to Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also stretch out my hand upon Edom; and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have stretched out My hand against Edom,

And I have cut off from it man and beast, And given it up -- a waste, from Teman

even to Dedan, By sword they do fall.

Ezekiel 25 14

I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord Yahweh.

And I will execute my vengeance upon Edom, by the hand of my people Israel; and they

shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know

my vengeance, saith the Lord Jehovah.

And I have given My vengeance on Edom, By the hand of My people Israel, And they

have done in Edom, According to My anger, and according to My fury, And they

have known My vengeance, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

Ezekiel 25 15

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of soul to destroy with perpetual enmity;

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have

taken vengeance with despite of soul, to destroy, from old hatred;

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of the doings of the Philistines in vengeance,

And they take vengeance with despite in soul, To destroy -- the enmity age-

Ezekiel 25 16

therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I stretch out my hands upon the

Philistines, and I will cut off the Kerethites, and cause the remnant of the sea-coast to

perish.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am stretching out My hand against the

Philistines, And I have cut off the Cherethim, And destroyed the remnant of the

haven of the sea,

Ezekiel 25 17

I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall lay my vengeance on them.

And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know

that I [am] Jehovah, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

And done upon them great vengeance with furious reproofs, And they have known

that I [am] Jehovah, In My giving out My vengeance on them!

It happened in the eleventh year, in the first [day] of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, [that] the word of

Jehovah came unto me, saying,

And it cometh to pass, in the eleventh year, in the first of the month, there hath

been a word of Jehovah unto me, saying: `Son of man,

Ezekiel 26 2

Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken: the gate of the peoples; she is turned to me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste:

Son of man, because Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken, the gate of the

peoples! she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished [now] she is laid waste;

Because that Tyre hath said of Jerusalem: Aha, she hath been broken, the doors of

the peoples, She hath turned round unto me, I am filled -- she hath been laid waste,

Ezekiel 26 3

therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up.

He shall set his battering engines against your walls, and with his axes he shall break down your towers.

I will cause the noise of your songs to cease; and the sound of your harps shall be no more heard.

I will make you a bare rock; you shall be a place for the spreading of nets; you shall be built no more: for I Yahweh have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh.

Thus says the Lord Yahweh to Tyre: shall not the isles shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of you?

Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their embroidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit on the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.

They shall take up a lamentation over you, and tell you, How are you destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, who was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all who lived there!

And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How hast thou perished,

that wast inhabited from the seas, O renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, -- she

and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all them that dwell therein!

And have lifted up for thee a lamentation, And said to thee: How hast thou

perished, That art inhabited from the seas, The praised city, that was strong in

the sea, She and her inhabitants, Who put their terror on all her inhabitants!

Ezekiel 26 18

Now shall the isles tremble in the day of your fall; yes, the isles that are in the sea shall be dismayed at your departure.

Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; and the isles that are in the sea shall be

troubled at thy departure.

Now they tremble, is it not the day of thy fall? Troubled have been the isles that

[are] in the sea, at thine outgoing.

For thus says the Lord Yahweh: When I shall make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep on you, and the great waters shall cover you;

then will I bring you down with those who descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make you to dwell in the nether parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living:

then will I bring thee down, with them that go down to the pit, to the people of old time,

and will cause thee to dwell in the lower parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with

them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land

of the living.

And I have caused thee to go down, With those going down to the pit, Unto the

people of old, And I have caused thee to dwell in the land, The lower parts -- in

wastes of old, With those going down to the pit, So that thou art not inhabited,

And I have given beauty in the land of the living.

Ezekiel 26 21

I will make you a terror, and you shall no more have any being; though you be sought for, yet shall you never be found again, says the Lord Yahweh.

and tell Tyre, you who dwell at the entry of the sea, who are the merchant of the peoples to many isles, thus says the Lord Yahweh: You, Tyre, have said, I am perfect in beauty.

and say unto Tyre: O thou that art situate at the entries of the sea, and traffickest with

the peoples in many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, Tyre, hast said, I am perfect

in beauty.

O dweller on the entrances of the sea, Merchant of the peoples unto many isles,

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: O Tyre, thou -- thou hast said: I [am] the perfection of

beauty.

Ezekiel 27 4

Your borders are in the heart of the seas; your builders have perfected your beauty.

Thy borders are in the heart of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

In the heart of the seas [are] thy borders, Thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

They have made all your planks of fir-trees from Senir; they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.

They made all thy double boards of cypress-trees of Senir; they took cedars from Lebanon

to make masts for thee.

Of firs of Senir they have built to thee all thy double-boarded ships, Of cedars of

Lebanon they have taken to make a mast for thee,

Ezekiel 27 6

Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; they have made your benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the isles of Kittim.

Of the oaks of Bashan did they make thine oars; they made thy benches of ivory, inlaid in

box-wood, out of the isles of Chittim.

Of oaks of Bashan they made thine oars, Thy bench they have made of ivory, A

branch of Ashurim from isles of Chittim.

Ezekiel 27 7

Of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt was your sail, that it might be to you for an ensign; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was your awning.

Byssus with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, to serve thee for a banner; blue and

purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.

Of fine linen with embroidery from Egypt hath been thy sail, To be to thee for an

ensign, Of blue and purple from isles of Elishah hath been thy covering.

Ezekiel 27 8

The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers: your wise men, Tyre, were in you, they were your pilots.

The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy rowers; thy wise men, O Tyre, who were in

thee, were thy pilots.

Inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad have been rowers to thee, Thy wise men, O Tyre,

have been in thee, They [are] thy pilots.

Ezekiel 27 9

The old men of Gebal and the wise men of it were in you your repairers of ship seams: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to deal in your merchandise.

The elders of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee repairing thy leaks; all the

ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee, to barter with thee.

Elders of Gebal and its wise men have been in thee, Strengthening thy breach; All

ships of the sea and their mariners, Have been in thee, to trade [with] thy

merchandise.

Ezekiel 27 10

Persia and Lud and Put were in your army, your men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in you; they set forth your comeliness.

Persia and Lud and Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged shield and

helmet in thee; they gave splendour to thee.

Persian and Lud and Phut Have been in thy forces -- thy men of war. Shield and

helmet they hung up in thee, They -- they have given out thine honour.

Ezekiel 27 11

The men of Arvad with your army were on your walls round about, and valorous men were in your towers; they hanged their shields on your walls round about; they have perfected your beauty.

The children of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the

Gammadim were on thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about;

they made thy beauty perfect.

The sons of Arvad, and thy force, [Are] on thy walls round about, And short

swordsmen in thy towers have been, Their shields they have hung up on thy walls

round about, They -- they have perfected thy beauty.

Ezekiel 27 12

Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for your wares.

Tarshish dealt with thee by reason of the abundance of all substance; with silver, iron,

tin, and lead, they furnished thy markets.

Tarshish [is] thy merchant, Because of the abundance of all wealth, For silver,

iron, tin, and lead, They have given out thy remnants.

Ezekiel 27 13

Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for your merchandise.

Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee the persons of men, and vessels of bronze.

Javan, Tubal, and Meshech -- they [are] thy merchants, For persons of men, and

vessels of brass, They have given out thy merchandise.

Ezekiel 27 14

They of the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses and war-horses and mules.

They of the house of Togarmah furnished thy markets with horses, and horsemen, and

mules.

They of the house of Togarmah, [For] horses, and riding steeds, and mules, They

have given out thy remnants.

The men of Dedan were your traffickers; many isles were the market of your hand: they brought you in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.

Syria was your merchant by reason of the multitude of your handiworks: they traded for your wares with emeralds, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.

with carbuncles, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and corals, and rubies.

Aram [is] thy merchant, Because of the abundance of thy works, For emerald,

Judah, and the land of Israel, they were your traffickers: they traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, and confections, and honey, and oil, and balm.

Vedan and Javan go about with thy remnants, They have given shining iron,

cassia, and cane, In thy merchandise it hath been.

Dedan was your trafficker in precious cloths for riding.

Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of your hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they your merchants.

Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur [and] Chilmad, were your

These were your traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in chests of rich clothing, bound with cords and made of cedar, among your merchandise.

and in chests full of variegated stuffs, bound with cords and made of cedar-wood,

amongst thy merchandise.

The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise: and you were replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.

Ships of Tarshish [are] thy double walls of thy merchandise, And thou art filled

and honoured greatly, In the heart of the seas.

Your rowers have brought you into great waters: the east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.

Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters; the east wind hath broken thee in the

heart of the seas.

Into great waters have they brought thee, Those rowing thee, The east wind hath

Ezekiel 27 27

Your riches, and your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, and your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, and the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war, who are in you, with all your company which is in the midst of you, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.

Thy substance, and thy markets, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, they that

repair thy leaks, and they that barter with thee, and all thy men of war that are in thee,

along with all thine assemblage which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of

the seas in the day of thy fall.

At the sound of the cry of your pilots the suburbs shall shake.

The open places shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

At the voice of the cry of thy pilots shake do the suburbs.

All who handled the oar, the mariners, [and] all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand on the land,

And all that handle the oar, the mariners, all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from

their ships; they shall stand upon the land,

And come down from their ships have all handling an oar, Mariners, all the pilots

of the sea, on the land they stand,

Ezekiel 27 30

and shall cause their voice to be heard over you, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust on their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

and shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly; and they shall

And have sounded for thee with their voice, And cry bitterly, and cause dust to go

and they shall make themselves bald for you, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for you in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.

In their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, [saying], Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the midst of the sea?

[saying,] Who is like Tyre, like her that is destroyed in the midst of the sea?

And lifted up for thee have their sons a lamentation, And they have lamented over

thee, who [is] as Tyre? As the cut-off one in the midst of the sea?

When your wares went forth out of the seas, you filled many peoples; you did enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.

When thy wares went forth over the seas, thou filledst many peoples; thou didst enrich

the kings of the earth with the abundance of thy substance and of thy merchandise.

With the outgoing of thy remnants from the seas, Thou hast filled many peoples,

With the abundance of thy riches, and thy merchandise, Thou hast made rich

things of earth.

In the time that you were broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company did fall in the midst of you.

In the time [when] thou art broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, thy

merchandise and all thine assemblage in the midst of thee have fallen.

The time of [thy] being broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, Thy

merchandise and all thy assembly in thy midst have fallen.

All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at you, and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their face.

Son of man, tell the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet you are man, and not God, though you did set your heart as the heart of God;-

Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a ·god, I sit [in] the seat of God, in the heart of the seas, (and thou art a man, and not ·God,) and thou settest thy heart as the heart of God:

`Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because thy

heart hath been high, And thou dost say: A god I [am], The habitation of God I have

inhabited, In the heart of the seas, And thou [art] man, and not God, And thou

givest out thy heart as the heart of God,

Ezekiel 28 3

behold, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that is hidden from you;

behold, thou art wiser than Daniel! nothing secret is obscure for thee;

Lo, thou [art] wiser than Daniel, No hidden thing have they concealed from thee.

by your wisdom and by your understanding you have gotten you riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasures;

by thy wisdom and by thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten

gold and silver into thy treasures;

By thy wisdom and by thine understanding Thou hast made for thee wealth, And

makest gold and silver in thy treasuries.

Ezekiel 28 5

by your great wisdom [and] by your traffic have you increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches;-

by thy great wisdom thou hast by thy traffic increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted

up because of thy riches.

By the abundance of thy wisdom, Through thy merchandise, Thou hast multiplied

thy wealth, And high is thy heart through thy wealth.

Ezekiel 28 6

therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have set your heart as the heart of God,

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God,

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of thy giving out thy heart as the

heart of God,

therefore, behold, I will bring strangers on you, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they shall defile your brightness.

therefore behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations; and they

shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall tarnish thy

brightness.

Therefore, lo, I am bringing in against thee strangers, The terrible of the nations,

And they have drawn out their swords Against the beauty of thy wisdom, And

they have pierced thy brightness.
