I believe the statement that I heard a long time ago: "He who does not learn from history is destined to repeat it." And this old picture is brought to the forefront of my thoughts today because of the words superimposed on it. Could it be possible that ourcurrent president could become a "type" of the man on the left? Possibly, because he has demonstrated an almost total disregard for his oath of office, coupled with a repeated effort to obtain more and more power. Some have even gone so far as to have called him an uncrowned dictator. While I think that is a bit severe, it could happen in the near future. And a nationalized police force would be a logical stepping stone to the destruction of our republic and the creation of a dictatorship.
America is a great nation; we have become great because God has blessed us! Why? I believe it is because of the vast unknown number who have known and followed God to the best of their ability. But, imagine The United States of America not knowing or wanting to know God. Think it couldn't happen here? What about God's chosen nation, ancient Israel? It only takes a few verses from the book of Judges to remind us...
Judges, Chapter 2 (WEB)
6 Now when Joshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel went every man to his inheritance to possess the land. 7 The people served Yahweh all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of Yahweh that he had worked for Israel. 8 Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Yahweh, died, being one hundred ten years old. 9 They buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath Heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash. 10 Also all that generation were gathered to their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, who didn’t know Yahweh, nor yet the work which he had worked for Israel. 11 The children of Israel did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and served the Baals; 12 and they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them: and they provoked Yahweh to anger.
If The United States of America does not return to its religious roots, I believe that we will be destined to become a dictatorship! And with each and every passing week this is becoming more apparent. It is not too late to change things, for we still have a chance at the ballot box to elect only those who are in favor of a very small federal government, with limited powers. (For me, this meant becoming a card carrying libertarian.)
Because of Israel's departure from God, they went through cycle after cycle of apostasy and deliverance (by a Judge- hence the name of the book). All because they rejected God!!! America- return to God and never depart!!! Why repeat history? Repent of sin and return to faithfulness!!!
Now is the time, why do you wait? Or perhaps you really do think a Adolph Hitler is just what we need????
