Yesterday, we spent a couple of hours watching one of our favorite shows, The Fixer-Upper on Netflix. We had never seen the first seasons of the series, so it was a treat to see how they began. For those of you who have never seen the series, a husband and wife team (Chip and Joanna Gaines) fix-up houses for their clients. Some of the fixes are easy, but most ARE NOT!!! Anyway, in one of the first few episodes, Joanna had a decorative metal wall hanging made to accentuate the motif of the renovation.
I liked it so much that I was still thinking about it this morning. As I consider it once more, I have to ask myself the question: Why not think this way? Positive thinking produces positive results!!! And if you have the mindset to purposely dedicate today as a good day, you will see things that way- regardless of what happens.
And as my custom is, I thought of the Scriptures, and a few verses once again came to my mind...
Romans, Chapter 8 (WEB)
28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Philippians, Chapter 4 (WEB)
8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
And another one came to mind as well, but I just couldn't seem to find it- it goes something like "as a man thinketh in his heart so is he". So, the good day we will have is tied directly to both the Scriptures and God and that is exactly what God wants for us. Remember, Today is a good day to have a good day?

Accentuate the Positive
You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
To illustrate his last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they do
Just when everything looked so dark
Man, they said we better, accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
No, do not mess with Mister In-Between
Do you hear me?
Oh, listen to me children and-a you will hear
About the elininatin' of the negative
And the accent on the positive
And gather 'round me children if you're willin'
And sit tight while I start reviewin'
The attitude of doin' right
You've gotta accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom, down to the minimum
Otherwise pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
To illustrate my last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they say
Say when everything looked so dark
Man, they said we better accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
No, don't mess with Mister In-Between
In reality, both good and not-so-good things may happen to you TODAY, but if you remember that even on a "bad" day GOD still loves you- HOW-BAD-CAN-IT-BE???
One final thought...
Today is a good day to have a good day!!!!
