Thanks to Larry Shatzer, I have grown
very, very fond of Snoopy. In this picture, Snoopy passively ignores
something he just doesn't want to hear. He chills out, lays down and
turns out what he simply does NOT want to hear! How many people have we
known who are like that? Friends, family, co-workers and maybe even
ourselves on occasion?
In all fairness, perhaps there is a good
reason; you know, something like an incessant nag, or someone telling
you things you have heard over and over and over.
Question: But, what if its about some
spiritual aspect of your life that needs changing? Something that would
keep you from heaven?
Then, what do you do?
Paul says to his young disciple Timothy...
2 Timothy, Chapter 4 (WEB)
1 I
command you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will
judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his Kingdom: 2 preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching. 3 For
the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but
having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their
own lusts, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables. (emp. added vss. 3 &4) 5 But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry.
What
you do is up to you. You decide your fate, no one else! My advice is to
listen to what The Bible has to say and nothing else. Don't be fooled
by people whose primary spiritual message is one of personal opinion,
and does not have a shred of Scriptural basis to it!
Your ears, your choice- choose wisely!!!
