For those of you who don’t know me all that well, one of my interests is astronomy. From childhood I have enjoyed viewing the heavens and marveling at their vastness. Since the Bible teaches that God exists in heaven, and is attended by angels, I have often thought about angels. At some point time, one of the angels (Satan) rebelled against the rule of God and with him a myriad of followers. His pride and hatred of man have shown that he cannot be trusted. He deceived Adam and Eve and will try to trick anyone and everyone into believing falsehood.
His efforts to destroy the human race continue. The apostle Paul encountered Satan’s deceptions in the most important of all truths, the Good News (or Gospel).
Galatians 1 (World English Bible)
6 I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different “good news”; 7 and there isn’t another “good news.” Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Christ. 8 But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any “good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed. 9 As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any “good news” other than that which you received, let him be cursed. (emphasis added) 10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ. 11 But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Good News which was preached by me, that it is not according to man. 12 For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.
Trust in the word of God and only the word of God. Never put your confidence in some “very religious” person, who replaces BIBLICAL TRUTH with a religion of works or philosophy. Be careful not to add to or subtract from the faith that was once for all delivered in the first century. Trust in God, not in the fanciful ideas of human beings!
And, as far as angels are concerned…
Hebrews 1 (WEB)
1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. 5 For to which of the angels did he say at any time,
“You are my Son.
Today have I become your father?”
“You are my Son.
Today have I become your father?”
and again,
“I will be to him a Father,
and he will be to me a Son?”
6 When he again brings in the firstborn into the world he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him.” 7 Of the angels he says,
“Who makes his angels winds,
and his servants a flame of fire.”
8 But of the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.
The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;
therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.”
10 And,
“You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth.
The heavens are the works of your hands.
11 They will perish, but you continue.
They all will grow old like a garment does.
12 You will roll them up like a mantle,
and they will be changed;
but you are the same.
Your years will not fail.”
“I will be to him a Father,
and he will be to me a Son?”

13 But which of the angels has he told at any time,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?”
14 Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

Trust. Without it, heaven is unattainable!!! Like the hymn says:
When we walk with the Lord In the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way; While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey. | |
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey. |
