Money by Gary Rose

A couple of months ago, my dog Pal was diagnosed with a heart murmur. In July, we went on vacation for a week, but had to come back a day early because Pal had severe problems breathing. When we took our dog to the Veterinarian, he said that the heart murmur had become MUCH worse and that our dog needed medicine to stay alive. The good news is that Pal is much better, but the sad news is that he will be on his medicine for the rest of his life.

In a way, this all turned out for the better, as it was a reminder of what is really important in life; love. Money comes and money goes (all too quickly, I might add) but love is a blessing that money just can’t buy. In fact, with more money comes more problems. Worse than the problems are the way it can change you into someone who just wants more and more of it, until greed totally controls your life. The apostle Paul wrote to his protege Timothy…

1 Timothy 6 ( World English Bible )
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

My recent experience with Pal’s sickness made me re-evaluate my own attitude towards money and I hope it will help you do the same.

I think the coffee cup says it all: “Money can buy a lot of things, but it doesn’t wiggle its butt every time you come in the door”.
